XC -- Is it just running?

Registration is now open for Coach Braz's GTD cross-country program this summer.

We asked Riley Dowd to describe a typical morning at Braz XC Camp for a college runner.

Riley: "College runners show up a little earlier than the rest of the camp in order to get our volume in.
"After the run, we sync up with the rest of the XC camp and we typically do hurdle drills, band work, medicine ball work, and finally core. After core, a lot of runners stick around and stretch."

Anthony Pizzo says "the ends of the session may be the most vital part of the session in my opinion. Core work, flexibility, and strength work are the small things that are going to help you become the best you can be. However, this last phase of the session is the hardest. You’re already fatigued from your run and now you have Coach Braz instructing core. He likes to get creative with his core exercises too."

All-Sports conditioning

Registration is now open for Coach Braz's GTD All-Sports program this summer.

"What I've taken from this program is a workout that is designed to replicate soccer fitness or all sports, such as field hockey and lacrosse. The program targets heart rates for certain amounts of time similar to the sport, thus preparing us for the endurance needed for the sport. Coach Braz always has ladders, cones, mini hurdles, a field and a track ready for us to work out on and at the end of each session we would use bands and regular hurdles to stretch and work on flexibility. It helped to prevent injuries, it really helped a lot."
