An Invitation

Dear Friends,

It's been a while since I've written to this list. Those of you who have subscribed to my new publication, I'd rather be here now, having been hearing from me more often.

When I told you about this project in my last letter, and invited you to subscribe, I buried it down at the end. I did that on purpose. I wasn't ready to lead with that offer. Even though I still don't know what I'm doing, it's more clear to me that I am doing it, and that's what counts.

This letter is an upfront, third paragraph invitation for you to check it out. If you are intrigued by what you see, then I hope you will subscribe. You will receive every new post in your email. See below for some of what you've been missing!

I’d rather be here now is an experiment in sharing… a train of thought, a description of artistic process, a rant, a joke, a picture, a story… we’ll see how it goes.

I am beginning this project without knowing what it will become. That’s the only way I can begin. Make. Write. Draw. Share.

Even though this will require adherence to certain schedules and systems, I don’t want to phone it in. If there is any point in doing this at all, it is to engage in the spiritual practice of not phoning it in. Or texting it. I want to offer you my presence. That is the challenge for me, all the time.

What you've been missing...

A post I sent out around Thanksgiving:

I've also shared a couple of posts recently that I wrote a while back and that seem relevant to the present. Here's one of them:

What I would like you to do:

Check out I'd rather be here now and if you feel that it might be worthwhile, or fun, or helpful, to be part of the IRBHN community, then please subscribe.

I have set up paid subscriptions as an option, and I am deeply grateful to the folks who have offered me that support. At present nothing is behind a paywall, and it may never be. I have ideas for paid subscriber benefits that do not require me to withhold content, which I would rather not do.
Paid subscriptions, at this point, are a freewill offering accepted with gratitude.

An offer from Lamb & Lion Studio

I forgot, or never knew, that the words above are from the Christmas song, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. I particularly like the phrase "prophet-bards." I take it to mean that prophets are artists, or vice versa.

If you like sending actual physical objects in the mail at this time of year, please note that you can still find the card above, with or without the inside text, and many others, at my website.

For the rest of 2023 I have a special offer for those who want to buy a card in bulk: 48 cards and envelopes of one style for $36. This includes shipping. Smaller amounts are available in 6-card groups for $6, with a $24 minimum order. Shipping is also included.

Please check out I'd rather be here now... and let me know what you think! Let's welcome the return of the light on December 21, and may all the light-inspired holidays at this time of year help us bring as much of the light of love into our world as possible.

My love to you,

janinasig
