A Note From Mr. Sandefur

Lion Family,

Good afternoon! As we prepare to celebrate our graduates (the Class of 2023, K5, and PreK students) in the coming days, the following words of 19th Century theologian James Freeman Clarke are a reminder of how we can approach the days ahead, "If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way." While we may not know the plans that the Lord has for us, what we do know is that we can seek to honor Him with all that we do (Colossians 3:17). Please join me in praying for our graduates that they seek the Lord with all that they have and that they are willing to submit to the plans that He has for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11).

As we complete the last few days of the academic calendar, we will have many opportunities to celebrate our students. Please use the information below to plan accordingly.

Jeremy Sandefur
President/Head of School

Cookies for the Art Showcase

PTF sponsored cookies for the Art Showcase at Vienna Coffee House. This provided refreshments for our Lions and families as they came to enjoy the showcase.

Teacher Recess Relief

Once a month, PTF provides recess relief for our PreK teachers by watching the students while they play and allowing the teachers to eat lunch and have a small break.

PTF provided the popsicles that are sold each Friday in elementary. By providing the popsicles, the funds raised go directly back into the classrooms.

Summer Math Tutoring

2nd-4th Grades

Dear TKA Families,

My name is Ms. Addison, and I teach third grade here at TKA. I have been a part of the TKA family for four years now, including a portion of my masters degree internship program. I am excited to announce I will be offering summer tutoring for rising, or current year, 2nd through 4th grade math. I will be offering tutoring to better solidify skills from the grade the student will be leaving, or working on skills to prepare for the upcoming school year. The cost will be $30/half hour session in small groups and $35/half hour session for individual sessions. This will be made payable through your FACTS account. I will be working out of my classroom in the Ogle Elementary building.

IMPORTANT: Deadline to sign up is May 26, 2023.

I have created a sign-up form in which you can decide which dates and times work best for you. Students will be signed up for 30 minutes each session. The sign-up page lists all of the available dates. Please choose dates that work best for you and the number of sessions you would like. If you need to cancel a session or would like to be added to a session, please email me 48 hours in advance. Details are listed on the sign-up page. Dates are only available in June.

Please select the dates and times from the sign-up page below. Please know space is limited.

Thank you in advance for the opportunity to be a part of your student's education. I look forward to a fun and successful summer.

Visitor Policy

TKA Visitor Policy

In order to help maintain a safe and instructionally based learning environment for our students, all visitors for middle and high school must enter through the front door of the Anderson Building and sign in in the middle/high school office in order to receive a visitor's pass. All visitors for elementary must enter the front door of the Ogle Building in order to receive a visitor's pass. This pass should be visible at all times so that TKA faculty and staff know that you have checked in at the office.

Our doors are open to visitors, but please call ahead of time to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. This will prevent interruptions to instruction and the loss of the valuable learning time of our students. Adults will not be allowed to wander the halls of the building or hold conferences with teachers during instructional times.

TKA family lunch visitors should follow the above procedure. Lunch tickets are $5 each.

Students who are not enrolled at TKA are not permitted to visit TKA students during the school day, which includes lunch.

This policy has been developed in order to help maintain a safe and instruction focused environment at school each day. Any visitor who does not meet these expectations may be asked to leave school grounds.
