Soaking in weekly visits with beloved Grandma Margie who is 95 years on this beloved Earth and will be with me in sprit on my journey.

Dear ones, I am in the thick of preparations for my 7-week ancestral pilgrimage (see below) and joining me is esteemed plantcestor native persimmon. I gathered and dried their leaves with gratitude and intentions for gifting to the sacred land, trees, and folks I’ll be visiting soon in Western Europe. Have you sipped persimmon leaf tea with me over the years? So nourishing, abundant, and delicious!

Registration just opened for an autumn wild ramble when I return, featuring, you guessed it, persimmon and their fantastic fall fruit. My September walk filled in just a few days so don’t delay in signing up :-)

Yesterday I devoured my first pawpaw of the year and I'm spying the red splash of sumac, virginia creeper, and sourwood leaves changing color. Sending love as we approach the turning of seasons, Planty Kim

Ancestor Pilgrimage

Goodness ya'll, many more words are needed to adequately honor all the layers of this journey I'm about to embark on as part of my 50th bday celebration (and lifelong healing and learning). For now, let me express gratitude to Layla Feghali for plantcestors, to Wild Routes with whom I'll begin my trip, to David Dean's Roots Deeper Than Whiteness and many other resources I'll share later, and to all my ancestors guiding the way. Here I am practice packing :-) Thanks for your loving support!
