MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEKEND

This has been a very challenging and unique time for all of us. Like many small, discretionary services-based businesses, Aspen Racquet Club took a significant financial hit during the pandemic, especially when the club was closed by our Governor's order. Our focus during this time has been on taking care of our employees and customers. We made some adjustments in the way we operate so that we can retain our employees and contractors without making pay cuts or lay-offs. For the benefit of our employees and our customers, we have placed a tremendous emphasis on health and safety at the club since we were allowed to reopen - so that we can stay open.

We are so grateful for your continued support and trust. To extend our gratitude, we are hosting a special Member Appreciation Weekend event on Saturday and Sunday, October 24th and 25th. From noon on Saturday until Sunday evening, we will open the courts for members to play free of charge. To accommodate the most players, we are initially offering one 1.5 hour time slot per member, and will extend this if space allows. The time slots will be staggered in order to minimize players entering and exiting the club at the same time. Given the pandemic, we will continue to follow all safety procedures. Unfortunately, this means we cannot offer refreshments or encourage socializing after your play at the club.

COVID-19 UPDATES

Please continue to be vigilant to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 as we head into the fall season. At Aspen, we thoroughly clean all the common areas at the Club regularly, including the restrooms, gym and courts.

Remember, we do require that you wear a mask to enter the Club. You do not need to wear your mask during play; however, a mask is required while you enter and exit the court and in all common areas. We have a table set up at the entrance where you can sanitize your hands and get a mask if you don't have one. Also, members and guests alike will need to sign a COVID-19 waiver in order to play at the club.

Please do your part to help us keep you and others safe from this severe health risk by wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, and sanitizing your hands.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR USTA TEAMS

We have two teams who won Northeast Ohio USTA district titles in August. This is a first-ever for teams from Aspen - we are proud of you!

Men's 40+ 4.0 Doubles - Captain Jason Otto. Aspen Players: Kent Smith, David Preston, Michael Jackson, Michael Cremer, Terry Angert, Doug Meigs, Stephen Seilfried, Andy Kiel, Bill Gantz, Kevin Patterson, and Casey Hoy.

Mixed 18+ 6.0 Doubles - Captain Rebekah Miller. Aspen Players: Brandi Wimer, Amanda Petit, Susan Boyes, Scott Boyes, Daniel Boyes, No Khounborin, Mike Mowry, Lee Ann Mogus, and Tom Mogus.

We have a number of USTA league teams playing this fall hunting for more titles. Please contact us if you are interested in playing USTA this fall.

With the continuing presence of Covid-19 in our lives, we have seen an increase in demand for private drills. These are drills for private groups or families, which are not open to the public.
