Happy Weekend to you!

I can't stop thinking about this fresh strawberry soft serve. After we joined my parents for camping at a state park in South Dakota last weekend, the girls and I drove to my sister's home near Sioux Falls for a couple nights. My nephew is working at B&G Milkyway, their local drive-in. And I just had to try this strawberry soft serve that my sister had been talking about. I liked it so much that I convinced everyone to go back the following evening, too. The place is just a few blocks from their home - it was too convenient not to!!

My Favorite Things this week... When it comes to grilling, we love to make kebabs. If you are familiar with our grilling recipe archives, you already know how true that is. I shared a new grilled chicken skewers recipe this week on the blog, be sure to check it out (link below). And I wanted to share my favorite wood skewers (link HERE) with you, too. I like that they are a thicker wood than most, so they don't burn up as fast (I still soak them for a few hours prior to grilling). And they have a rectangular shape that helps all the skewered things not twist around as much. I always have these on hand!

On our agenda this weekend? Weeds. Pulling weeds, that is. With being gone so much this month, our yard is needing some attention!

Thank you so much for joining us here each week, for reading the blog, and for following along on social media. We are grateful for your company.

Have an awesome weekend!
Brenda

NEW: On The Blog This Week

In this Grilled Chicken Skewers with Green Curry Yogurt Sauce recipe, marinated strips of chicken are grilled until tender and then served with a tangy green curry sauce bursting with fresh herbs. The chicken is flavorful all on its own, but just wait until you taste that sauce - you'll want to use it for EVERYTHING!!

Read this post and grab the recipe here.

CRUMBS: What We Made This Week

Have you ever grilled angel food cake?

It is SO GOOD. I love the crispy, smoky char that the grill's heat gives the sweet cake.

We took an angel food cake along with us camping last weekend. And my aunt had an angel food cake. So our whole group sat around the camp fire one evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. We served grilled angel food cake with a simple rhubarb sauce that I added some strawberries and raspberries to.

Here's the recipe for the cake and sauce!
