April 16, 2017: Easter Sunday

S20170416-EAS 01

The Gospel for this Sunday is

Matthew 28:1-10 (Click Here to Read)

On this day the Lord has acted!

On the first day of the week God began creation, transforming darkness into light. On this, the “eighth day” of the week, Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. We celebrate this new creation in the waters of baptism and in the feast of victory. With great joy we celebrate this day of days, even as we begin the great fifty days of Easter. Filled with hope, we go forth to share the news that Christ is risen!
Sorrow gives way to “fear and great joy” when two women are sent by an angel to proclaim the good news: Jesus is risen!

Lake Edge is a member of MOSES Madison, a local chapter of a Wisconsin prison reform organization. MOSES will hold a “Breakfast-2-Go” fundraiser in the parking lot near the Urban League on South Park St. in the Villager Mall. MOSES volunteers will give muffins and coffee to passersby, ask for donations, and tell about what MOSES does. We think WI could save millions of dollars, and thousands of lives, by thoughtful reforms to our prison system. More info at, mosesmadison.org, & MOSES Facebook page.
