Serve the Little Ones

The welcome of baptism is for all God’s children. This baptismal gift sets us free from the power of sin and death. In this week's gospel, Christ promises that the disciple who gives a cup of cold water to the little ones serves Christ himself. From worship we are sent on our baptismal mission: to serve the little ones of this world and to be a sign of God’s merciful welcome.

Monday, July 10

6:00-8:00 pm

655 West Badger Road

Madison, WI 53713

Dr. Christy Clark-Pujara

The esteemed Dr. Christy Clark-Pujara will be delivering a lecture on July 10th from 6p-8p on the history of slavery in the U.S. If you attended the U.S. Black History Class this year, you are already familiar with Dr. Clark-Pujara. If you've never had the chance to attend one of her lectures, you are in for a treat. She goes beyond a mere teaching of history but brings it to life with vivid images and expert delivery.

This is a perfect event to bring friends and family that didn't get a chance to go to the U.S. Black History Class, and a chance to receive fresh knowledge for those who did. This is a free event and we will have to cap off the number of spots at 250, so register today and reserve your seats!

If you are interested in buying Dr. Clark-Pujara's book, Dark Work: The Business of Slavery in Rhode Island (Early American Places), let us know that when you RSVP.

Gifts Committee: Matching Gifts Needed

gift hands

At the recent congregational meeting, two special initiatives were approved to be funded through the gifts committee:
1) part time youth pastor for the next year
2) repair of the front rock wall and improving drainage near the front door to prevent water from reaching our elevator shaft and basement hallway.

The Gifts Committee will match donations to these projects. Please check the bulletin and June Dialogue for details about how you can contribute to these important initiatives.

As always, thank you for your support of these types of special initiatives through the gifts committee. Jim St. Vincent, Chairperson, Gifts Committee
