Curriculum day

Last week, the teachers worked in their teaching teams to deep dive into our student data. They shared work samples, moderated against the curriculum and had discussions about all the learning growth our students have made this semester. What a day! The teachers are now continuing with the report writing process. Reports will go live on Compass on Friday 15th December.

Parent Night

Our Parents Association are hosting a Parent Night at Rutherford’s Wine Bar on Friday 24th November. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate the year and spend a relaxing time together.

Success of the Prep transition

Our 2024 Prep Transitions have now all wrapped up. It has been such a thrill to see our future students make new friends and spend time getting to know their school. We look forward to them coming back again on December 5 for their Meet the Teacher morning.

It Takes a Spark Conference

On Friday the 17th of November, selected grade 5/6 students will be attending the It Takes a Spark STEM conference at John Paul College in Frankston. Ms Pollard and 12 of our very own MVPS students will be presenting a Coding Workshop to other students from across Victoria, where they will demonstrate how to create a chase game using the coding program Scratch. Needless to say, we are so proud of the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students in order to plan and prepare their Coding workshop. Our students will attend other student and teacher run workshops, listen to keynote speakers from the STEM industry and be inspired by the new technology that will be showcased at the conference. We will share student reflections on the conference with you next week.

Malvern Valley Parents Association and TheirCare are thrilled to invite all MVPS students to participate in a School Color Run. The Run will take place on Thursday 14th of December, on the Oval and playgrounds at MVPS with the event running from 1pm - 3.30pm. Please note: All costs for this event are covered by the PA.

We kindly ask that students bring a change of clothes to school to participate in the event with a suggestion of a white t-shirt and shorts. All powders that we will use are machine washable, non-toxic, safe for the environment and they won't stain clothes, hair or skin.

TheirCare will be supplying a BBQ for the students and teachers for the event, and they will be catering for vegetarians, gluten-free and vegans, but if your child does have a dietary requirement please email the Parents Association (mvps_pa@outlook.com) to ensure we can accommodate their needs.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in this, please let your child's teacher know.

If you have any questions about this, or if you wish to assist in volunteering with this event, please email PA at mvps_pa@outlook.com
