In recent years, the use of remote camera traps has revolutionized wildlife research.

Here in Wasgamuwa, we use remote cameras* to collect valuable information about our elephants.

Pic 1 - This is a recent picture taken on March 09, 2017 from one of our cameras, a dominant male whom we had named Gayantha, is walking out from the Wasgamuwa National Park early in the morning at 4.38 am.

Pic 2 - On the same day (2017/03/09) at about 16.30 in the afternoon, I encountered him alone at the Weheragala Tank (wewa). He was in musth.
