This summer has been a flurry of activity and I wanted to catch you up on more exciting news.

At the moment, I am working on two custom tiny house builds here in California. One build is for clients Anna & Kevin who will be transitioning to a new life in Portland. The other is my own build for a new studio space. These tiny house builds, plus other design projects such as a new commercial studio, an upcoming presentation at the Tiny House Jamboree, and my own wedding reception (yippee!), are keeping my summer days full and productive.

I'm also working on a special project that will allow more people to have a version of Vina's Tiny House, only bigger and better (think factory built!).

When Anna & Kevin took a tour of my house, they were convinced that it was possible to live comfortably in a tiny house... We were soon off to the races to develop a custom design. Their requirements were a tall order, but I love a challenge! In the end, they were happy with the design and they have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Some design features:

Anna & Kevin's home is built on a 24' long trailer with a shed roof. I'm fortunate to work with a local builder with a high level of quality for a reasonable price. The build is well on its way - check out their work on the top photo... Big thanks to Chris Wilson and Greg Prinz.

In addition to tiny house projects, Sol Haus Design has been fortunate to work on other design projects, such as two residential projects in Malibu. More on that soon.

Closer to home in downtown Ojai, I have been graced with an opportunity to design a commercial studio for Continuum Movement, a wonderful new modality of healing. This new facility, called Somatic Sanctuary, is founded by the lovely soul Sarah Grace, who is bringing this gift to the Ojai community.

The conceptual design has been presented to the City of Ojai's Planning Commission with positive feedback. We're thrilled and excited to move forward!

I've always believed that tiny houses can be used for many different purposes. As an extra bedroom space for guests or as a studio space for work, tiny houses on wheels offer multi-functionality.

NEW MOBILE STUDIO! After renting an office space for almost two years, it's time to move on. Instead of looking for another office to lease, I'm designing and building my own, original tiny studio on wheels!

The design will be flexible as an office or guesthouse. Intentionally designed smaller for mobility, the trailer is only 16' long. Staying true to a mission towards sustainability, the mobile unit is completely off the grid and powered by solar.
