Leaf Season!

We are fortunate to be surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of protected National Forest land...which means this time of year is extra special in Oconee County! Colors are just starting to turn. Late October - mid November should be the peak time to view stunning fall foliage in the area. Our Fall Leaf Trails map offers a driving route with scenic views of seasonal fall color throughout Oconee County. We hope you are able to visit the area to experience autumn Oconee style!

Whether you're traveling with the kids, your parents or friends, the folks at Upcountry South Carolina recommend these excursions for your itinerary:

Day 1: The Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Byway, whitewater rafting on the Chattooga River, visit an apple orchard, dinner at the Steakhouse Cafeteria in Walhalla.

Day 2: Devils Fork State Park, kayak or pontoon boat tour of Lake Jocassee, and waterfall hike.

Oconee’s roads weave past breath taking scenery that offers cyclists over 300 miles of ever-changing landscape.

Road Titans are coming!
