Term 3 week 4
Compass Tips and Tricks!
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, each week we are going to offer some ‘Tips and Tricks’ for Compass. This week we are focussing on Attendance. You can use the browser view or do it via the app. Below are instructions for when you are using the browser. If you use the app, click on the plus symbol along the menu bar. It will prompt you with next steps, which are very similar to what’s outlined below.
Please remember to log your child’s attendance on Compass if they are sick or you are going on a family holiday. You do this by logging onto Compass and clicking on the ‘Add Attendance Note’ tab (circled in red).
If your child will be arriving late to school or is being picked up early, can you also please log this on Compass, using the same ‘Add Attendance Note’ tab. Please make sure you alter the time to reflect their absence; for example if you are dropping them at 10:30, the attendance note will be altered to say they are absent from 8:55 - 10:30am.
If your child is absent from school and you haven’t let the school know, you will receive a text message from Compass at 9:30am. The text message will ask you to submit the reason for your child’s absence. You will see a notification appear on your Compass Dashboard if we are awaiting some attendance information (circled in blue).
Our school attendance data is regularly reported to the Department of Education so it is important that we maintain its accuracy.
We really appreciate your support with this. Any questions, please visit the office.
