Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"Time seems to be ticking by at record speed. We are already at the middle of August. The birds have been enjoying my sunflowers. It is so funny to watch them turned upside down, pecking away at the dying sunflowers. God made all things to work together. It is so amazing – I am thankful for all the blessings around me every day. I know I may say this every week, but we are blessed, and I am thankful for it all."

"My WORD for this week is “LEAN.” We sang a song at church Sunday, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” so that is my inspiration for this week. While some of us are in the “lean,” others are in a full tilt. We need to “lean” on God in everything. Not only “lean” on Him but “lean” into Holy Spirit. “Lean” in more, press in more. The enemy is working overtime to put one little nick in our armor so he can overtake us. Don’t let him. “Lean” on God first. Don’t make God our “after I try all of this,” I will check with Him. Make Him first, “lean” on him first. The more we try ourselves and do not “lean” on Him, the more of a mess we make. “Lean” first, trust first, believe first. I also want to encourage us to “lean” on each other. Throw away our pride and, if we need one another, “lean” on one another. If we are to show the love of Jesus to everyone, can't we also “lean” on each other? Offer a place to “lean” to one another. We will have blessed peace if we can just learn to “lean” on Jesus in all we do."

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

~ Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

News of the Week

The cooler weather has been very pleasant. Our crew has been busy weeding and doing grounds cleanup, sorting in the warehouse, making jam, and more. Keeping Peach Lemonade Juicy Jam in stock has been a challenge!

This was our final week with Cameron for this summer. He's been here since May, so it really was a bummer for all of us to say goodbye. But we know that he will be back, because GG is an awesome place to work, volunteer, and visit!! As Wednesday was his last day, we celebrated him with a special smoked pulled pork lunch cooked by Pastor Mike & Stacy, playing games, and taking a wagon ride through the woods. We wish Cam a fantastic school year!

Now that back to school is upon us, we are making plans to finally welcome classrooms back to GG. We haven't had a class work with us since the pandemic began in 2020, so we are very excited. So far, Mondays and Tuesdays for part of September and October will bring South Range and Leetonia here to learn about what we do and to join in the work. It looks like Crestview may return as well. All of us at GG wish everyone a fantastic and healthy 2022-2023 school year!
