I have missed many things over the last year, but teaching in person workshops ranks at the top of the list. Two workshops are now scheduled for 2021 at Santa Fe Artist Getaway and I look forward to sharing experiences and working with artists in person again.

AUGUST 9 - 14, 2021

ADVANCED 5 DAY INTENSIVE PAINTING

This is a hybrid Independent Study and Curriculum based course designed for artists comfortable with working independently and with an existing practice and knowledge of abstract painting methods.

• Days 1 & 2 will include morning exercises demos and discussions with afternoons devoted to painting.

• Days 3 thru 5 are devoted to all-day painting.

Guided exercises will spark new approaches to abstraction as artists experiment with process and materials, observe instructor demonstrations, and participate in instructor/peer collaboration and critiques.

Working independently and one-on-one with Krista, the focus is on professional development of your creative practice and challenges you to deepen your understanding of your work and your goals. The course is limited to 10 students. The two studios at Santa Fe Artists Getaway allocate generous workspaces for each artist to work on multiple and large-scale paintings.

5 DAY INDEPENDENT EXPLORATION

***

This is an Assisted Independent Study Workshop, designed for artists of all approaches with extensive experience and deeply devoted practices.

Artists will pursue their own body of work over the course of the 5 days. Personal guidance and one-on-one discussions will take place daily with Krista. Directed group discourse and discussion, peer interaction, informal demonstrations on technique, materials, color and composition will be interwoven throughout the workshop, but the focus is on allowing time to delve deeply into your work.

A portfolio review and interview will be required prior to acceptance.

Santa Fe is a beautiful and unique setting. If your schedule permits, allow extra days to explore and enjoy all it has to offer. You can check out the official tourism site at santafe.org The food is fabulous, there's great hiking for all levels, shopping is often a one-of-a-kind experience, and then there's art! You'll see everything from traditional Southwest Style to contemporary galleries at the Railyard and Site Santa Fe. So if you're travelling with a spouse, friend or partner they'll be busy too!

There are plenty of hotels, VRBO and AirB&B options for every budget. Plan early though, because the workshop may coincide with other festivals and events.
