TENT CAMPING, 48"h X 36"w, acrylic and mixed media on canvas
At some point in our lives – if we're lucky – our roads seem to double back and crisscross over paths of earlier years. Places we grew up and people we have known come back into focus and we get to reconnect or revisit those dormant experiences with a different perspective and clarity, one of distance and maturity.
Having the opportunity to respond to those memories visually, to put down something in paint on canvas somehow validates or cements those experiences for me. It's a very personal and cathartic process … not exactly going home again, but a way of retracing my steps.
I'm very honored to have these works and more featured at West Branch Gallery and Sculpture Park in Stowe, Vermont. On exhibit March 25 through May 30,2017. Opening reception March 25, 6 to 8 p.m.
