September at GG

Monday was a busy day. We volunteered at Whispering Pines, shopped for Tuesday lunch projects, and had plenty of time to get work done here in the afternoon.

Tuesday's lunch was homemade pizza, one with chicken and broccoli and one with tomatoes, onions, and basil. These masterpieces were served with a salad of mixed greens, carrots, and red peppers. Colorful and delicious!

We kept Leetonia and Mohawk busy this week with various projects, including working in the warehouse and filling up the new flower bed behind the Sanctuary with soil and compost. We are so excited about this planting area! Next Thursday, our Transition friends will be getting back into the fall routine with us.

After a slow start, we are having a fantastic butterfly year and had another butterfly release this week. Our crew has really enjoyed finding and caring for different types of caterpillars and then releasing the butterflies. It is certainly fun for all ages!

Today is CSA day. Only four more weeks after this. We thank Jen Shannon and her dad, Fred Carrier, for donating tomatoes again.

Tomorrow night we will be in Boardman at the Mission Night Market, from 6-10pm, with jam, tie-dyed bags, and birdhouse gourds. We would love to see you there!

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity
Drop items off in the collection barrel or take them up to the Green Room, anytime throughout the year!

Let your friends and family know that we accept donations year-round. Help us spread the word!

We are happy to take coats, clothes, shoes, purses and bags, jewelry, hats, gloves and mittens, scarves, and even small household items. We will accept anything that is clean and in good repair that you think someone else might be able to use! Last year, items like purses, shoes, and baby clothes were in high demand. Folks also enjoyed the random item table that had pictures, blankets, glasses, etc. You never know what might make someone's day. One man's trash is another man's treasure!

Date for Giveaway ~ Saturday, October 12th, 10am-1pm!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
