8. Excited Nina

Hi Member,

It's been a while since you received an eNews and in case you missed the email we sent to members a few weeks ago, you can find out why we've been MIA in the post below - What happened to Vetanswers? Well..

But we're back with some great new blog posts including a post from one of our favourite guest bloggers Dr Cathy Warburton - 5 Steps to take a permanent u-turn on unhealthy habits (don't wait until the new year - start now). There's also a wrap up of the most popular posts and resources in October according to the Vetanswers Community and another new post with ideas on how you can start to develop your leadership skills whether you have the 'title' or not - Not the boss? Doesn't mean you can't become a great leader in your veterinary practice.

We missed the original announcement during Vet Nurse Day so this week we're also sending a big congratulations to the 2017 Vet Nurse of the Year - Trish Farry and the 2017 Student Vet Nurse of the Year - Alice Eade.

And finally above right you'll see a lovely photo of my gorgeous girl Nina taken about 6 years ago. We sadly had to say a very sudden and unexpected goodbye to her just over a week ago. I miss my constant companion and buddy dreadfully. It's been a challenging few weeks.

Our aim is to help you...save time, connect & discover!

Enjoy your reading :)

5 Steps to take a permanent U-turn on unhealthy habits (Guest Post)

Have you got a bad habit going? Something that is not only failing to add anything to your life but may even be subtracting from it? Something you want to change but don’t know how to? Follow this logical and science-backed approach to show this habit who is boss.

Not the boss - Doesn t mean you can t become a great leader in your veterinary practice

Not the boss? Doesn't mean you can't become a great leader in your veterinary practice

Even if you don’t have a ‘Title’ there’s no reason why you can’t step up into a leadership role, especially if, for whatever reason, you can see there’s a bit of a void.

A sad farewell to my best buddy Nina

Nina - eNews red

It's now over a week since we said goodbye to our much loved Nina. She suddenly became unwell and was diagnosed with a ruptured tumour on her spleen. She was rushed into surgery where more tumours were found on her spleen and liver. It was an unwinnable fight so we had to say goodbye.

She was only 11 years old and we'd hoped for many more years with the most loving, beautiful Nina. I'm not sure what I'll do without my shadow following me everywhere and it's been very lonely with no dog companion for the first time in over 22 years.

I posted this message on the Vetanswers Facebook Page and received many beautiful comments - this is part of one of those messages (thanks Kaye):

"They steal our hearts for sure but it's a theft we adore."
