How to Properly Use Your Exercise-Tracker

With our 2015 challenge about to begin, it's VERY important that all of you CruzFit'ers understand how to make the best use of your Exercise-Tracker files, as it's your ticket to earning your 2015 Finisher's T-shirts!

As we're watching your Exercise-Tracker files being created and shared with your teams, we're noticing a handful of common errors that, if not corrected, will limit our the tracker's ability to calculate your individual and team results, as well as our ability to create and publish our CruzFit Leaderboards through the challenge.

So, please read this list of common Exercise-Tracker errors, and then contact us if you need assistance in making any corrections to your team's file.

Common Exercise-Tracker Use Errors:

1) TYPING IN NON-YELLOW CELLS - As stated in red font at the top of each worksheet within your exercise-tracker file, you should ONLY edit (type in) the YELLOW cells. Typing in any of the other cells will likely delete an embedded formula that's intended to make calculations of your results or import info from other worksheets. The most common issue that team's experience with their files is the result of typing in the wrong (non-yellow) cells.

2) EDITING WORKSHEET TABS/TITLES - Many of the formulas that we've inserted into your exercise-trackers refer to the names of your file's worksheets (i.e. "Team Member #3"). Unfortunately, these formulas aren't automatically updated if you rename or delete the worksheets. So, please don't rename or delete any of the worksheets.

3) FORGETTING TO SELECT A "CHALLENGE LEVEL" - At the request of many past CruzFit participants, we've included the "Challenge Level" option so that you can choose how hard you want this challenge to be. Some of the file's formulas refer to your challenge-level, so you HAVE to choose one (Easy, Medium, or Hard) or else certain calculations, such as your Percentage Complete, can't be made.

4) NOT ENTERING YOUR MINUTES - One of the keys to the CruzFit program is your ability to see what kind of progress your teammates are making towards your team's goals. Additionally, this year's we'll be creating a team leaderboard that will list and rank all of our teams according to their progress towards their goals. Neither of these features will hold much value if you aren't keeping your exercise-trackers up-to-date with your daily minutes of exercise. So, please try to make a habit of entering your minutes every day!

If you need to correct any cells/formulas that you may have deleted you have 2 options:

1) Email us with a description of the problems you're having with your file and we'll try to make the corrections ourselves (assuming you've given FitLife editing permission for your file)

2) Open our "Master Copy" of the Exercise-Tracker File and then copy the formulas you need and paste them into your team's file (this will need to be done one at a time, and you'll need to copy and paste into the cell-contents preview line at the top of the page, rather than into the cell itself).

Thanks for your cooperation with this process, and we hope that it helps to make your CruzFit experience even more fun, effective, and enriching this year!
