From a basement in northern New Jersey, States & Capitals is a project by 21-year old Richie Arthur. In April 2015, the band released their debut four-song EP titled, “Vacant - EP.” They released their sophomore EP, “For Your Own Good - EP” later that same year. After the EP releases, the band dropped singles, “Crawling Right Back To You” and followed with the more mature, new-wave inspired single “20.08” in early 2016. After several off-date shows to promote the bands early catalog in 2015 and 16 (including slots on The Stories For Monday Tour, Camplified, SXSW), the band took the remainder of the year off in LA to discover a new identity from the once pop-punk based sound. Finished demos sent Richie on a trip to Nashville, TN to collaborate with producer Jonathan Roye (Owl City, Kelsea Ballerini, Forever The Sickest Kids) on an EP that would later be titled, “CREATIONS&MEMORIES - EP.”

The band kicked off the first leg of the “2018 CREATIONS&MEMORIES Tour” in Los Angeles, CA, on March 7, 2018, covering the west and southwest including “Southwest Invasion” in Austin, TX. The second leg kicked off on July 8, 2018, in Denver, CO, covering the entire USA, ending at House of Blues Anaheim on August 12, 2018. Throughout the tour, two additional B-Side singles from the C&M EP were released, “Villain” June 29, and “Higher,” July 27, the same day the band played the final Vans Warped Tour in Mansfield, MA.
