We will not be taking email orders or pre-orders for groceries as it is simply too difficult for us to manage effectively. You are encouraged to call before you come down to check on availability of products and how busy we are. Please be prepared to adhere to social distancing guidelines and possibly wait outside while your orders are weighed and assembled. Thank you in advance for your patience.
If there are other meats you are looking for, feel free to email me and I can try to get a quote and source them for you next week. In most cases, you would be required to buy a full case quantity, but maybe you have friends and neighbors that you can split a case with.
As many of you are aware, the nation's meat supply chain has been disrupted by the pandemic. The disruption that happened a few months ago around the beginning of the shut down was not actually a shortage, rather, it was a logistical problem for the retailers to get the product to market quickly enough for the increased demand and, at the time, the restaurant supply chain was unaffected. The current disruption, however, is affecting both retailers as well as restaurants. Rolling closures in meat processing facilities have caused a decreased supply in beef, chicken, and pork that is driving prices up 50-100% in some cases. Also, many supermarkets are limiting how much meat and/or dairy you can purchase at a time. The good news is that farms and ranches still have the livestock to produce meat, so hopefully the disruption in the processing plants is temporary. In the meantime, we are once again providing you the access to the meats that we are able to source. Keep in mind, we do not have the buying power of the large supermarket chains which means, in many cases, we cannot compete with their pricing. What we can provide is an alternative source of quality meats without rationing. If you do not like our pricing, just don't buy from us but please keep any negative comments to yourself. We are all just doing what we can to make it through these trying times.
