This is because of the danger associated with drinking/dehydration and being in the hot sun during commencement. This is a serious expectation that will likely be enforced with compliance checks/walk-throughs. Organizations can have registered parties or alcohol after the ceremony (starting at 6:30pm).

Taylor Rogers

Taylor Rogers

Taylor is incredibly involved on campus, including KDAWG Radio, ODK, Order of Omega, Psi Chi, PR for Panhell. Taylor shared, "I chose to become a member of Greek Life because I was looking for my place on campus. Prior to rushing, I didn't really have my niche, but ever since joining Xi, I've found the best group of friends and sisters. I would describe Greek Life as one big family, everyone is in it for similar reasons, and everyone might not get along, but in the end we all have each other's backs. My favorite part of Greek Life is all of the connections I have made. I can't go anywhere on campus without seeing someone I know!"

Jake Madden

Jake Madden

We want to congratulate Jake on becoming our new ASUR President! Jake is involved in Mock Trial, Town and Gown, Economics Tutor, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Gamma Sigma Alpha. Jake shared, "I've lived off-campus my entire time that I've been at the U of R, and I can say that Greek Life is one of the best ways to get involved and to meet new people on campus. Even if you're a student who is off-campus or isn't really involved, I encourage you to rush, because you'll never know what you might find." Jake additionally shared, "To someone who isn't Greek, I would say Greek Life is a way for students to find a new community on campus, and to make close and lasting relationships with all sorts of people, especially those in your organization. My favorite part of Greek Life is that it is a close-knit community."
