Welcome to Draw from The Well!

April has been quite the month!!

It started off on Long Island as I spent several days watching four of my precious "grands" while their mom and dad enjoyed a cruise. Later in the month, our "grand" celebration continued as we celebrated the birthdays of four out of our ten grandchildren.

In addition to all the Family fun, there have been several other April happenings, including:

preparations for a weekend retreat with the Ladies of Villa Baptist Church. (Journaling for the Soul, April 28th-29th.) I will be sure to share highlights next month!
acceptance of the invitation of our children's ministry director to join her in overseeing Baby/Child Dedications at our church.
Easter observances and family visits. (Okay, that was more family fun!)
Keeping up with blog post writing, the website, Facebook groups, and
cleaning! (It's not all fun and games!)

There are several other events and happenings taking shape, and I'm excited about sharing them with you as they develop!

All of this while my word for the year is "BE," and I continue to work on learning to Be Still with my Lord and Savior.

Honestly, many times this month I have defaulted to "go, go, go, do, do, do" mode. However, I have also enjoyed more moments of stillness and balance than has been my "norm" of late. If you, too, struggle in this area, you might want to check out any of the blog posts on Time Management or Healthy Balance. Each has been written from the place where I live. (Another tip: I enlisted a soul friend to be my Balance Buddy. It certainly helps me to know she will be asking!)

As always, may you be encouraged as you read. It is my prayer that you will find the articles and resources beneficial to you in living a legacy of love and intention.

Thank you for reading.

Praying with Purpose for our Children

One of the things I was privileged to do this month was to work alongside our children's ministry director in preparing for our church's upcoming Baby Dedication.

As part of our work, Praying with Purpose for our Children was developed. This is a brand new booklet just for parents, and its focus is PRAYER.

Prayer is a remarkable thing!

It is a wonderful gift from God that provides us with many benefits.

Prayer is also our job (Lamentations 2:19) and our weapon in battle (Ephesians 6:12).

As believers in God, we know the importance of prayer. Yet, even knowing its importance, sometimes we struggle as we face various roadblocks.

One of the likely roadblocks parents of infants or young children face is that of busyness. With so many responsibilities and demands on their time, it is often more than a struggle to find even a few minutes to pray.

Another common roadblock is not knowing what to pray. A young mama finally manages to grab a few moments to quiet herself before the Lord, and, wouldn’t you know it, her mind goes totally blank!

Parents, no matter the age of your children, in those times when you need to navigate roadblocks like those mentioned above, I pray this little booklet will be a treasured resource. Along with other helpful tidbits, this booklet contains 52 weekly prayer prompts. Already gathered for you in a convenient and concise format, the prompts provide specific and Bible-based starters to help in your important work of praying for your children.

And, Grandparents, please feel free to download a copy for the parents of your grandchildren!

Resource List for Parents

Another thing I was honored to do as a part of our Baby Dedication preparations was to compile a list of resources for parents.

It is my joy to share the list with you.

Download your Parenting Resource List here.

When using the Resource list, please keep in mind that while I consulted trusted sources and did my best to preview materials, I certainly was not able to read each and every selection. Therefore, inclusion on the list does NOT necessarily constitute an endorsement. Please choose items for yourself and your family after thoughtful consideration.
