January 2020 Prayer Letter

Happy New Year! We greet you in Jesus’ name. Every month or so we will send this prayer email to you, letting you know the most effective way you might pray for us. We do hope you will consider All Souls Anglican for your personal prayers that this new mission for the gospel may continue faithful to the gospel.

This Coming Sunday:

Join us this Sunday on the Second Sunday of Epiphany at 4:00 PM for Evensong. The sermon text is Genesis 5.25-32 entitled “He Will Give Us Rest”, the sixteenth of a sermon series on Genesis 1-11.

It encourages us deeply to know that you are praying for us. We look forward to sharing with you how God answers. Here is our latest update.

Join us this month as we raise our voices in THANKSGIVING and in PRAYER to our heavenly Father because:

• THANK YOU for praying for our Annual Parish Meeting this Sunday. Praise God for the unity on display at All Souls as we prayerfully consider 2019 and look with hope into 2020. PRAY that two godly members step forward to serve as delegates to our Diocesan Synod, one to step up as Vestryperson, and that another consider assuming the office of Treasurer for 2020.

• ASK God to oversee our quarterly Vestry meetings in 2020, so that they glorify our Savior and benefit the church. PRAY for a combination of prudence and boldness in our use of financial resources for mission.

• I've been enjoying preparing the sermons for our sermon series on Genesis 1-11. We've reached the start of chapter 6 and the Flood. PRAY that God would oversee my remaining sermon preparation so that his people are well fed by this next series of sermons on Genesis 6.
