Changes to the Board

Later this month the Board will vote to fill a vacant Board position with an interim. Sarah Kruger will be leaving Burlington for her husband's job, and has had to resign from her position as President-Elect/Executive VP. We are very sorry to see her go! Until the Nominating and Placement process this winter, Corresponding Secretary Monica McFarland will fill the role as Interim Executive VP. This winter a new President-Elect/Executive VP will be nominated and voted on by the membership at the Annual Meeting in April. Thanks to Monica for stepping into this role until then.

Babies! Babies! Babies!

Congrats Sara & Jason Beams! Owen Daniel Beams, was born July 26th. He weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long. So cute!

Congrats Rebecca & Tim Monty! Maxon Charles Monty, was born June 25. He weighed 7lbs 2oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. After some early surgery down in Boston, Maxon is healing well and busy being adorable! Rebecca's Meal Train

Congrats Jaclyn & Chris Womersley! Madison Marie Womersley was born on April 23. She was 6lbs 15oz and 19 inches long. So sweet!

We hope you have had a great summer. All of the committees are busy at work. If you have some extra time to give, we are looking for additional members to serve on the Ways and Means Committee, Nominating and Placement as well as Training. If you are interested please reach out to Sarah Lenes.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

As we quickly approach September we wanted to remind each of you of our general membership requirements:

▪ Attend a minimum of four (4) General Membership Meetings
▪ Complete 1 Done in a Day
▪ Attend one (1) leadership or project related training event- this may occur at a GMM and will be indicated in the communication for that event
▪ Participate in a mimimum of one project related committee
▪ Support FOW by selling a minimum of 4 tickets
▪ Pay annual dues in the amount of $125. Dues will be required to be paid by September 30th

TRAINING

Chair Training - September 1, 2016 at 6:30 pm
Location: Dorothy Alling Memorial Library, Williston (tentative)

This special training is designed to give Committee Chairs an overview of their role, provide tips and tools for leading a committee, and explore how to measure success. During this training we hope to provide foundation information, share lessons learned, and provide time to share goals. All are welcome, but if you are a Committee Chair, please plan to attend. Please RSVP on our website.

SIP & SEE AUGUST AUGUST 25TH

We will host a "sip & see" for potential new members on Thursday, August 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Main Street Landing Board Room (60 Lake Street, 2nd floor, Burlington). Members are encouraged to attend to show potential new members what the fun is all about and bring a friend who may like to join. Light refreshments will be served! DIAD (Done-In-A-Day) Projects

We have our first Done-In-A-Day lined up for the fall! We are headed to the Vermont Food Bank for a Saturday Sort-A-Thon on October, 8th from 8am-12pm at their warehouse in Barre.

Members who want to carpool should meet at the Park in Ride in Richmond at 7am that morning. We have 8 slots and you can sign up on our website. This is a popular project so sign up early, as we can’t bring more than 8 members due to limited space at the warehouse.

Members are encouraged to wear JLCV Hats and/or Shirts

This year we are offering JLCV T-Shirts (or hats if you'd prefer) so we can be easily identified as we work!

The picture to the right is the back of the shirt and a small JLCV logo will be on the front on the chest.

The league will subsidize much of the cost so that either will be available to members for only $5. Please plan to bring payment to the September meeting.
