Happy Texas Independence Day!

With a new month, we have a number of things happening at your Alamo Area MPO. From meetings of all our standing committees, to public open houses happening around the area with our partner agencies to special events happening this Saturday toencourage us all to get outdoors and live earth wise - March is off to a roaring start!

We are pleased to announce, due to popular request, that we will be holding 3 separate Street Skills classes this month - limited spaces remain available - check out the article in this newsletter and sign up quickly!

Whether its through FastTrack Online, the FastTrack e-newsletter, our Facebook page, our Twitter handle, our YouTube Channel, our website, or in person at one of our meetings around the community, please remember, we plan to keep you moving!

V-News for March 2015

The Alamo Area MPO has four regular meetings that occur each month.

All our meetings are open to the public and all agendas for our meetings are posted on our website, www.alamoareampo.org.

The Technical Advisory Committee will meet on Friday, March 6, 2015 starting at 1:30 P.M. at the MPO Offices located at 825 S. St. Mary's Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205.

The Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 starting at 8:00 A.M. at the MPO Offices located at 825 S. St. Mary's Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205.

The Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 starting at 3:30 P.M. at the MPO Offices located at 825 S. St. Mary's Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205.

The Transportation Policy Board will meet on Monday, March 23, 2015 starting at 1:30 P.M. at the VIA Metro Center located at 1021 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78212.

Have you ever taken part in a bike rodeo?

A bike rodeo is a bicycle skills event that gives young bicyclists a chance to practice their bicycle handling skills in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere.

Downtown Bike 4

Three Street Skills Classes will be held in March 2015

Due to interest and demand, the Alamo Area MPO is pleased to announce that we have scheduled a third Street Skills class for March 2015.

This will be the 6th class we have offered for Street Skills since January 2015. All our previous classes have quickly filled up with participants receiving a free helmet and bike light set for participating in the course.

Alamo Regional Mobility Authority

The Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (Alamo RMA) in partnership with the Texas Department of
Transportation (TxDOT) will hold two Open Houses to present proposed improvements to Loop 1604 between Bandera Road (SH 16) and eastward to I-35. The proposed improvements are being evaluated through an Environmental Assessment (EA).
