 All Photos ©Clément Marin | | Le Mans - France, le 16 juin 2019 L’édition 2019 des 24 Heures du Mans marque pour la première fois la fin du Championnat du Monde d’Endurance FIA WEC et le deuxième podium WEC de TDS. Les huit manches de la Super Saison 2018/2019 ont provoqué tout type d’émotions pour l’équipe TDS Racing, en passant par des déceptions féroces et une joie immense aujourd’hui sur le circuit des 24 Heures. Après deux quatrièmes places aux pieds des podiums à Spa 2018, Fuji, une 5e à Spa 2019, une 7e place à Silverstone, une déception au Mans 2018 et des DNF à Shanghai et Sebring, l’équipe était sur-motivée pour terminer sur une bonne note. Et quelle belle note que de voir Matthieu Vaxiviere, François Perrodo et Loïc Duval monter sur la troisième marche du podium des 24 Heures du mans 2019 !!l. | Essais Libres - 18 Tours - P16

Course - P3 | Une belle récompense pour le team Xavier Combet : Nous avons vécu une Super Saison en dents de scie. La performance était toujours là, mais nous avons manqué de réussite, parfois aussi de chance. Alors terminer la saison sur le podium LMP2 des 24 Heures du Mans avec François, Loïc et Matthieu est une belle récompense, pour eux et pour l’équipe. La course a été difficile, car la concurrence est rude en LMP2 « mondial ». Ici au Mans les équipages qui nous devancent et ceux qui nous suivent sont tous composés de pilotes professionnels Platinium, Silver ou Gold. Loïc et Matthieu ont vraiment bien assuré et la révélation c’est finalement François qui n’avait jamais aussi bien roulé jusqu’à présent. Cela nous a permis de garder le contact avec la tête de la course, la voiture était bien préparée et nous n’avons pas rencontré de problème technique ni mécanique. Nous avons su gérer les opportunités et la stratégie, et finir sur le podium des 24 Heures est la plus belle des récompenses pour tous. _
Voir un pilote Bronze sur le podium est aussi bien pour la catégorie LMP2, car elle en a besoin pour exister. Si nous pouvons donc, nous écuries LMP2, continuer à offrir aux pilotes Bronze cette expérience et notre expertise et les voir en profiter ouvertement, alors c’est bénéfique pour tous, les teams, les organisateurs, les pilotes._ | La boucle est bouclée ! François Perrodo FRA (Pilote Bronze) : " Nous avons débuté l’aventure LMP2 - TDS Racing en 2016 avec un podium - alors inattendu - à Silverstone (François, Matthieu et Emmanuel Collard) et nous la terminons aujourd’hui avec un podium aux 24 Heures du Mans. La Super Saison était un peu compliquée c’est vrai, mais si j’avais su à l’avance qu’elle allait se terminer comme ça… ça ne m’aurait pas dérangé !
Les prototypes LMP2 sont des autos incroyables et cela a parfois été difficile pour moi. Je suis ravi d’avoir pu vivre de l’intérieur « l’âge d’or des LMP2 ». J’adore les LMP2 et j’adore TDS Racing, j’ai passé de superbes moments avec l’équipe et les pilotes et c’est sûr, ils vont me manquer. Pour la nouvelle saison qui début très bientôt, je vais revenir au pilotage GT et ainsi retourner dans ma « zone de confort ». Merci à tous pour cette aventure fabuleuse." | Bonheur et fierté ! Matthieu Vaxivière FRA (Pilote Gold) : " Nous avons fait une belle course et je suis heureux d’avoir pu amener François sur ce podium-là. Cette saison s’achève de la plus belle manière qui soit, car depuis le début de la Super Saison (et même avant pour François et moi), nous avons vraiment passé du très bon temps chez TDS Racing. Bien-sûr la troisième place c’est super, et bien-sûr j’aspire à grimper plus haut la prochaine fois. Ce podium fait du bien à toute l’équipe qui le mérite, c’est merveilleux pour chacun des mécanos, ingénieurs et pour chaque personne qui y a contribué d’une façon ou d’une autre. De plus, c’est également une étoile supplémentaire sur ma carte de visite, et ça c’est toujours bon." | Mission accomplie ! Loïc Duval FRA (Pilote Platinium) : "Je suis très content de terminer notre aventure de cette manière. Nous avons fait la Super Saison tous ensemble et avons été bien malheureux à plusieurs reprises, alors finir sur le podium ici au Mans ça fait du bien. Pour tout dire, aider un vrai pilote amateur comme François à monter sur le podium était un peu mon objectif personnel. Nous avons fait une belle course et nous savions qu’en gérant bien l’essence et les pneus nous pouvions jouer en haut du tableau, comme nous l’avions déjà démontré l’année dernière et à plusieurs reprises tout au long de la saison. Nous avons très bien évolué ensemble tous les trois, montré de très belles performances et François a fait des progrès incroyables en un an. Cela reste évidemment un travail d’équipe, mais lui personnellement ne peut que sortir grandi d’une telle évolution personnelle. Un podium P2 au Mans est toujours bien pour l’évolution d’un pilote en sport auto. Et puis c’est vraiment chouette de faire ce podium avec Matthieu. Je me souviens tellement bien de sa frustration l’année dernière de n’être « que » au pied du podium… Un an après, nous avons démontré que la compétence est là et bien là. Je suis heureux d’avoir pu célébrer tout cela sur le podium avec Matthieu et François." |  All Photos ©Clément Marin | | Le Mans, France June 16th 2019 The 2019 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans mile stoned for the first time the end of the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the second WEC podium finish for TDS Racing. The eight rounds of the 2018/2019 Super Season lead to all kind of mixed feelings and emotions within the team, from harsh disappointing to great joy today at the Le Mans. The #28 car finished twice just one place off the podium in Spa 2018 and Fuji, 5th at Spa 2019, it took 7th place in Silverstone and very disappointing result in Le Mans 2018. In addition Shanghai and Sebring were DNF races. The team was therefore over motivated to finish the season on a high note, and what for a high note : François Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Loïc Duval on the third step of the 2019 LMP2 24 Hours of Le Mans. | A wonderful reward for the team Xavier Combet: Our Super Season was made of ups and downs. We were able to show very good competitiveness, sometimes we failed to succeed and sometimes we were unlucky. So, finishing the season on the 24-Hours of Le Mans LMP2 podium with François, Matthieu and Loïc is a great reward, for them and for the complete team. The race was difficult because competition is very high in WEC LMP2. Here at Le Mans, the team that are ahead of us, as well as those that are behind all have Platinium, Gold and Silver driver line-ups. Loïc and Matthieu really did the job but the real revelation is that François never drove as well as he did today. He managed to keep the car on the top places, our mechanics and engineers prepared a good car and we did not get into any technical nor mechanical trouble. We managed the opportunities and the strategies, and ending up on the podium is just the best reward. To see a Bronze driver on the 24H podium is also very good for the LMP2 category, as this class needs them to exist. So if we, LMP2 team can go on supplying this kind of challenge to this level of drivers, and see them benefit from us, then it’s good for all the parties, teams, drivers and organisation. |  All Photos ©Clément Marin | | Successful mission! Loïc Duval: I am very happy to end up our chapter this way. We competed in the full Super Season together, we have had some hard times and huge disappointments, so ending it with a Le Mans Podium is just very nice. To be honest, when I started with François, my goal was to take him on the podium at one point. We did a good race and we knew if we managed well fuel and tires we could be up front, as we have shown in the past. We worked very well the three of us, demonstrated that we could be fast and efficient and Francois progressed incredibly in one year. Of course it’s a team work but for him it’s an even more important personal improvement. And a P2 Podium in Le Mans is always a good step in a driver career. And I loved to step on that podium with Matthieu. I will never forget his huge disappointment last year, to only finish 4th just a few seconds from the 3rd step. One year later, we have demonstrated that we really have the competitiveness. | Pride and happiness! Matthieu Vaxiviere: We did a good race and I am very happy to have taken François to this Le Mans podium. The Super Season is ending in the best possible way, because we had a lot of fun all together at TDS Racing over the last three years (with Emmanuel Collard in 2016). Of course third is good and of course my objectives is to step further up next time. This result is good for each person in the team who deserves it, be it mechanics, engineers or any other person in the team who has help us make it happen. In addition it’s a new line on my résumé, and that’s always good. | The loop was completed! François Perrodo: We started our LMP2 story with TDS Racing in 2016 and stepped on the podium of our first WEC race in Silverstone (with Manu Collard and Matthieu), and we end it up today with our second WEC podium in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Super Season was a little difficult for me, but if one had said that it would end this way… it would not have bothered me at all!
The LMP2 prototypes are incredible cars, and I have to admit it has been hard on me sometimes. But I love to know I have lived the Golden Age of LMP2. I love these cars, I love the TDS Racing team as we shared some great times all together with the team and the drivers, and for sure I will miss them. But for the coming season, which is to start very soon, I have decided to go back to GT racing and that way back in my comfort zone.
