Educators and students alike had to learn on their feet last spring as classrooms made the sudden shift to remote learning. A proven instructional practice that worked in the physical classroom may not have translated well to Zoom. In this webinar, we’ll discuss the current paradigm shift in differentiating digital content and resources to support student learning, whether that happens in person or in hybrid or remote settings. Teachers’ ability to adopt and adapt to new instructional practices will be crucial to ensuring that student learning continues. ▪ What strategies can teachers embrace to make the most of precious classroom time?

We bring the voices of K-12 students, parents, educators and community members to Capitol Hill to be sure our policymakers are hearing directly from those most impacted by national education policy. The event includes the release of our national Speak Up report. But this year’s Congressional Briefing will be different! The COVID19 pandemic has provided us with the impetus to open up this event to be more inclusive. For the first time, our Speak Up Congressional Briefing will be an virtual event so all that anyone who cares about K-12 education can participate from all around the county and the world. In addition to sharing the research findings, the highlight of every Speak Up Congressional Briefing is the panel of students who tell their own stories about the role of digital tools, content and resources within their learning lives. Those insights are more important this year than ever due to the sudden shift to digital learning in spring 2020. The cavalcade of school closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the sudden and unplanned shift in the delivery mechanism for instruction, from primarily face-to-face, in-classroom instruction to digital learning facilitated over the Internet from home. Almost overnight, technology tools became the principal instrument for enabling the continuity of learning for students across the country. It also goes without saying that the roughly 90 days of school closures most likely forever changed our expectations for teaching and learning in K-12 education, and most certainly has shone a new spotlight on the role of digital tools, content and resources within the learning experience. ▪ 90 Days That Changed K-12 Teaching and Learning: Spotlight on Equity in Learning
The sudden and unplanned move to remote e-learning resulted in a spotlight on the challenges to ensure that every student has appropriate, safe and consistent access to digital tools and resources to support learning outside of school. But creating equity in learning environments is about more than provisioning a Chromebook and a Wifi hotspot to a family. Equity in access to quality teaching and learning matters too. | The E-Learning from Home Experience – Research and Data Collection Tools from Project Tomorrow To support the current needs of K-12 schools and districts during the COVID19 pandemic, we have assembled a comprehensive set of resources on home connectivity and remote learning to help K-12 school and district leaders understand the readiness and impact of at home e-learning on their students, parents and families. Our set of resources include reports, infographics, webinar recordings, presentations and tools for local data collection to help education leaders make key decisions and investments for the school year no matter whether their back-to-school format is fully online, fully face-to-face on premises, or a hybrid blend of both.
