We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been super! God has certainly blessed us with some fantastic weather here in Ohio. We are being spoiled for sure. I hope we all went out and voted. I did and wore my shirt with the flag on it. I am proud to be an American, freedom still reigns. Prayers are being said for Florida that God will protect them from any more harm with the newest hurricane threat. God can calm the seas." "My WORD for today is “SUSTAIN.” When this word was mentioned on Sunday regarding holding out a note on the keyboard – God laid on my heart – that’s my Word for this week. “Sustain” means to hold fast – to bear – to keep etc. No matter what is going on around us, we will not be moved or shaken. God will “sustain” us if we keep our thoughts on Him. God will “sustain” us in our darkest hour. Even when we think we just can’t take anymore, something happens, and we go on. We push through – just one more step – just one more night – just one more…. I heard one time if we have prayed and prayed for something to change – keep on praying because you never know if it that next prayer you say that is the ONE that changes everything. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you this week and “sustain” you in all things. Hold fast – help is right around the next prayer.” "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” ~ Psalm 55:22 (NIV) | Thanks for a Wonderful Potluck Luncheon Our volunteers certainly work well together and everyone pitched in to make our potluck run smoothly. On Tuesday, we enjoyed a trip to our friend Lisa's house to rake and bag her leaves, followed by lunch out and a shopping trip at Wal-Mart. It has been the perfect weather for working outside. Leaves have been the focus on the property for much of the week as well. We spent a long time mulching leaves and covering them up to turn them into beautiful compost for next year's crops. A good friend to GG just asked if we are still collecting egg shells and coffee grounds. Yes! We sure are! They make great additions to our compost and directly to our soil. Thanks for asking, Dawna, and thanks to everyone for bringing those items in! Today we are in the kitchen, cooking sides for our GG Thanksgiving dinner. Pastor Mike is smoking a turkey. Yum!!
