| A Note From Mr. Sandefur Lion Family, As we approach the Veterans Day weekend, a profound sense of appreciation and reverence fills our hearts. This time offers us a moment to reflect on the extraordinary dedication and sacrifice made by our veterans. It’s an occasion to express our deepest gratitude to those who have served and to their families who have supported them. Their commitment to preserving our freedoms is a testament to their selflessness and unwavering love for our country. At The King's Academy, we're dedicated to nurturing servant leaders who are inspired by the examples of sacrifice set by our veterans. These young men and women learn the values of selflessness, empathy, and the importance of giving back. They understand that service is not just an act but a way of life, rooted in the Christian principle of love for our neighbors. Our hope is that one day, our students will carry these ideals forward, changing the world for Christ by making it a better place for all. As we remember our veterans this weekend, let us extend our gratitude, prayers, and support to those who have given so much for our nation. Their legacy of service is a guiding light for our students as they strive to make a lasting impact on the world. We wish you a blessed Veterans Day weekend, filled with appreciation, reverence, and a heartwarming sense of gratitude. In Christ, Jeremy Sandefur President/Head of School | As we prepare for STEAM week, we are excited to partner with our parents as you help us participate in our STEAM Bingo! This year we are excited to involve and engage our TKA parents with an at-home challenge to participate with your child for STEAM Week. We have created a TKA STEAM Bingo Challenge for families to work through the Engineering Process at home with fun STEAM activities. Students will need to complete 3 STEAM activities in a row, column, or diagonally to achieve a STEAM Bingo. Our School-wide goal is to reach 170 STEAM Bingos. It is possible for each student to complete the max number of 8 bingos individually within this challenge, but to achieve the school-wide goal we need 75% of our pre-k and elementary students to complete 1 bingo. Please submit your completed STEAM Bingo Challenge sheet to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday, Nov. 15th. This gives you one week and 4 days to complete the challenge. We will celebrate with a fun event for our students on Thursday, Nov. 16th. There will also be 3 grade level winners chosen for the most participation. The top 3 grade levels with the highest participation and most bingos will have a pajama day (dress code guidelines still apply, hats allowed) on Friday, November 17th. -Mrs. Sullivan | Pictured left to right: Lori Campbell (TKA Administration), Rhonda Garbett and Jennifer Ayers (Breast Cancer Survivors), Crystal Wheelon (Nurse Practitioner University Surgical Oncology), Doreen Fannon, LPN (previously with University Surgical Oncology) and Erica Arem (Executive Director, Major Gifts The University of Tennessee Medical Center). | Breast Cancer Event Followup After our Community Breast Cancer Walk, we received some additional donations before presenting the check to The University of Tennessee Medical Center. We raised a total of $3,600.00 for patients currently going through breast cancer treatments. We greatly appreciate everyone's generosity and support for our event. Let's see your imagination shine! | The 30th Annual Seymour Christmas Parade Saturday, December 9th at 3:00 p.m. Save the Date! The 30th Annual Seymour Christmas Parade is Saturday, December 9th at 3:00 p.m. The King’s Academy will have several vehicles for this year’s parade themed "Christmas Thru The Decades." We would love to have a vehicle from as many of the decades as possible and for those riding on those vehicles to wear coordinating decade Christmas apparel (example: if you are in a 1980s vehicle, dress like Christmas in the 80s). This is such a fun annual town tradition. We’d like as many people as possible to show up and show out for TKA!! This is an amazing opportunity for teachers, students, teams, and families to represent TKA in the community and celebrate Christmas together! To make the parade a success, we need some help! Ways you can help: ▪ Donate candy to be thrown out at the parade (candy can be given to Ms. Gioioso or Ms. Reed) ▪ Walk with us on parade day. There will be a lead float with spots for riding. Spots are limited and preference will be given to small children and those unable to walk the distance of the parade route. The parade path is mildly strenuous due to the hills on Chapman Highway. PLEASE REGISTER TO RIDE with the link below if you need a spot to ride. ▪ We would love to have a car or vehicle from as many of the decades as possible! If you have a cool vehicle that can be used in the parade? Old car? Horse-drawn carriage? Click the link below and fill out the form. Someone will contact you soon! ▪ | Donate candy to be thrown out at the parade (candy can be given to Ms. Gioioso or Ms. Reed) | ▪ | Walk with us on parade day.
