SHORELINE CLEANUP JUNE 2015

Shoreline Cleanup

Meet just south of the War Memorial on Shore Blvd
(Between Ditmars Blvd and Astoria Park South)
Astoria, Queens

It’s Your Waterfront! Help keep it clean and beautiful!

Join Green Shores NYC and the Astoria Park Alliance in cleaning the East River Shoreline in Astoria Park.

All are welcome!
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants 14 and older are permitted to clean the shoreline. All others will participate in cleaning Shore Blvd and other parts of Astoria Park.

Volunteers are urged to wear old clothes (long pants-no shorts) and sturdy shoes or boots (sandals are not allowed).

The Shoreline Cleanup is RAIN or SHINE but will be canceled in the event of thunderstorms.

This event is made possible with the support of Partnerships for Parks and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation

Paddle to/from Stuy Cove with the LIC Boathouse

Hunters Point, Queens

Join the LIC Community Boathouse to bring boats across the river to Manhattan for the Stuyvesant Cove afternoon walk-up paddling event. Total on water time will be approximately 90 minutes.

This is an easy-to-moderate one-way trip from Anable Basin in Queens to Stuyvesant Cove in Manhattan. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation home from 23rd St and Ave C (one option is the East River Ferry from E 34th St), or may request spots on the evening return paddle back to Anable Basin in Long Island City.

Paddlers on this trip are strongly encouraged to stay and volunteer at the Stuyvesant Cove walk-up paddling event which runs from 11:30a to 2:30pm.
