Old and new traditions delight at the Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children’s Day Festival presented by Publix! East Cooper schools will host carnival games centered on the event's theme. Families will enjoy carnival rides, giant inflatable slides, live entertainment, food concessions, face painting and many other activities! Admission and all activities are free. More here. |

Ain't Misbehavin' Musical Revue

One of the great theatre tribute musicals featuring the African American musicians of the 1920’s and 30’s who were part of the Harlem Renaissance. Five performers present an evening of rowdy, raunchy, and humorous songs and dances that encapsulate the various moods of the time and reflect Fats Waller’s view of life as a journey meant for pleasure and play.

The Friends of African American Art & Culture (FAAAC) partners with McKissick Museum for an intimate conversation with self-taught African American potters Winton and Rosa Eugene. For thirty years, this husband and wife artistic duo has produced a body of functional wares and sculptural works that speak to Southerners’ shared experiences and seek to address issues that resonate with them. Hear about the couples’ artistic process and how they have sustained a thriving arts-based business. This FAAAC talk complements Place It / Face It : Pottery by Eugene, an exhibition on view at McKissick Museum through December 15. The talk will be held at the CMA. More here. |
