"SA-UK Season 2015 , funded by the British Council and the SA Department of Arts & Culture and CEO Bongani Tembe have commissioned Adam to organise a series of gigs, workshopping educational events and a seminar at the Royal Academy of Music entitled "Towards A South African Jazz Curriculum". Visiting London specially to participate in this series is the cutting edge contemporary South African Jazz pianist Bokani Dyer- a burning talent, with international touring experience and past winner of the Standard Bank Musician of the Year Award in South Africa. "

Adam Glasser and celebrated UK jazz flautist Gareth Lockrane along with Bokani Dyer are offering a series of free workshops to secondary schools and specialist music education establishments entitled Great South African Jazz Standards Old and New - using charts and recordings with background information giving a historical overview of a particular SA artists from a musician's point of view. They will also perform with students &/or staff during workshops lasting up to two hours.Two high profile gigs have been organised in particular - 20th Nov at The Ivy House, Nunhead, 'South African Jazz Vocal Night' will feature legendary vocalist Pinise Saul with Luyanda and Prudence Jezile backed by an cracking 8 piece band including Jason Yarde and Chris Batchelor and Rob Luft.
A few days later at The 606 see The Gareth Lockrane/Adam Glasser Project featuring Bokani Dyer and a host of great UK jazz musicians with experience of playing South African jazz including Tony Kofi and Jason Yarde.
Bokani Dyer has already made a considerable impact touring Europe in 2014 with his international ensemble. Along with Bheki Mseleku's last great collaborator & arranger Gareth Lockrane, Adam Glasser (curator of SA-UK 2015 Jazz Series) presents material from a range South African jazz composers: legends Jonas Gwangwa, Chris McGregor, Victor Ndlazilwana to more contemporary compositions including Bokani's acclaimed albums 'Emancipate the Story' and the newly released 'World Music'. The line up features outstanding players with an affinity for South African jazz!

Award-winning Jazz harmonica and keyboard player Adam Glasser grew up in South Africa and is currently London-based. Adam has performed with artists such as Martha Reeves, Hugh Masekela and Dominic Miller. Adam won the 2010 SAMA Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. His subsequent album Mzansi was nominated Best Jazz Album at the 2012 SAMA Awards.
