When was the last time you said NO to a great opportunity?

We say No for many different reasons. Maybe because we don't have the funds, the time or simply the muse to do something. Fair enough.

But how often have you said No because you were scared of the challenge? Or because you think others wouldn't agree with your choices? Or because you have no faith in your capabilities?

Each time we say No, a door closes - and with it a string of doors that would have opened subsequently. But you know what? How are we going to succeed in life if we don't give life a shot?

Next time someone gives you an opportunity say YES! Whether it's the chance to go on a trip, take on a freelance project or try a new activity. There is no failure in life - only experience!

things we love new

We love sharing our favorite products, people and services with you, because we think they can make your travel experience just that little bit better - or a lot, actually they make everything a lot better!

A Backpack

...that reminds us of Thailand.

Every month we try to add new products to our Travelettes Shop on the website which is filled with travel essentials for every taste.

This month we fell madly in love with the gorgeous backpacks from Thai Handbags, which produces fair trade in Thailand! This backpack is made out of vintage fabrics handwoven by the Hmong hill tribe in the Lanna region on northern Thailand.

Imagine - now, you can carry a piece of Thailand with you at all times!

How to Travel with a Carry-On ONLY - Even on Longer Trips

The art of packing and travelling with a carry-on only is a super useful skill not only because it can save your money on flights, but also hassle when exploring a new place!

However, it's not always easy to fit all your essentials into a cabin-sized bag - especially if your definition of essentials includes five pairs of shows, hair straighteners and ten different What If items...

Here are some of our top tips for packing all your travel necessities into a carry-on in the most efficient way:

1. Only carry clothes for 1 week.
2. Bring mostly basics and a few accessories that stand out.
3. Find accommodation with laundry facilities or embrace the local laundromats.
4. Use solid beauty products (e.g. from Lush) or all-in-one Castile soap.
5. Start packing in advance, plan your outfits and know the airline policies.
6. Don't bring any What If items and tackle challenges when they arise!
7. Roll your clothes and send postcards instead of buying souvenirs.

If you are a frequent hand luggage-only traveller feel free to send us your best tips for travelling with a carry-on to hello@travelettes.net - we're collecting tips for a collaborative post on Travelettes!

WIN the PERFECT Travel Pillow!!!

What do Travelettes and this year's Oscar nominees have in common? They all use the same travel pillow!

Travelette Kathi has been testing her travel pillow from TRTL (pronounced Turtle) for over a year now and won't get on a plane or long train/bus journey without it anymore. And starts and film giants of Hollywood will receive the cool pillow in the 2016 Oscar gift lounge.

We all know the U-shaped travel pillows you can get at any airport shop, but they are not the most comfortable for your neck AND to be honest they also look quite silly.

The great thing about TRTL pillows is that they are two-in-one, neck support and warm scarf which both protect your neck from getting too stiff!

The TRTL travel pillow is available through Amazon, but we teamed up with the Glasgow-based start-up and are giving away 4 TRTL travel pillows in black or grey incl. free shipping around the world!

All you have to do for a chance to win - well, you've already done it*! This newsletter is exclusive to you, our subscribers, to say THANK YOU for saying YES to Travelettes!

* Winners will be chosen at random from the list of subscribers and notified via email.

We hope that we could inspire you with this month's round up of travel ideas, must-have items and fantastic giveaways - and next time someone offers you an opportunity, you don't have to think twice and say YES!
