Dear EBOS Artists,

We are alive and well and ready to move into a new phase for the East Bay Open Studios.

Hello!

My name is Carolyn Quan and I am honored to be the new Producer of the East Bay Open Studios.

It is with much gratitude and excitement that I have accepted this role. First and foremost, I want to especially thank ProArts for giving me this opportunity to serve the community of which I am also a member of and that I care deeply about.

I wanted to reach out at this time to introduce myself and to outline the general plan moving forward so that you have a basic idea of what is going to take place.

For those of you who may not have read my bio in the ProArts newsletter. I have included it at the bottom of this newsletter so you can learn about my professional background and my skill set and qualifications for the role that I have taken on. I am a working fine artist myself and have a deep understanding of artists and our needs. I also have an extensive background in marketing and communications coupled with strong organizational skills.

I will be meeting with and consulting with a number of my advisors which include professional artists, open studio producers, artist advocates, art collectors and business consultants to determine how the event will be modified for 2017. I have also read all of the feedback forms from the 2016 event and will take it all into consideration moving forward. There is a lot to digest and process at this time.

We will be developing the new visual branding of the event, the website, event schedule, participation details, etc. throughout November and securing a venue for our Opening Celebration and Preview Exhibition. We are aiming for December for the launch of the new website for the 2017 event. The Call for Artists will begin sometime thereafter. Announcements will be made through these newsletters.

The EBOS event will continue to take place in June, but at this time the exact dates have yet to be determined. Some aspects of the event will be modified and some aspects will stay the same.

I hope that many, if not all of you, will choose to participate in the 2017 event and make this rebirth one to truly celebrate.

With gratitude and respect, Carolyn Quan

P.S. I have just finished setting up our new EBOS Facebook page and would love to have you all connect with us there, so we can begin to build our social media exposure from today forward. Please invite all of your Bay Area Facebook friends, especially the art lovers and collectors, to join us!
