August Sermon Series at IPUMC

Disciples Make Disciples

“19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.” Matthew 28:19-20

The purpose of our congregation is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Discipleship is an ongoing process of being shaped and mentored in our faith, while inviting others to be shaped and mentored by this faith. We believe disciples are formed through a process of CONNECTING with God and one another, GROWING in our knowledge and love of God and each other, and SERVING God and our neighbor.

Throughout the month of August we will explore the disciple making process that is the core of who we believe God is calling us to be at Inman Park Church. Join us as we explore:

August 13: Connecting with Jesus and Others
August 20: Growing in our Faith
August 27: Serving One Another

world prayer

Ecumenical Prayer Cycle

As a way to remember our connection with Christians around the globe, we will start using a great prayer tool: the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle. Each week of the year a number of countries are highlighted to lift up in prayer. There are also prayers written by Christians in those countries that you can use. By following the cycle throughout the year, you would pray your way around the globe. We will start listing the different countries each week in our prayer list.

For the week of August 13 pray for: Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger

To find out more and to find links to the prayers from countries around the world click here.
