Fall is here! What a wonderful season.

We just finished celebrating being thankful (or being grateful), and now we are preparing for the next celebration which is Halloween (or Hallows’ eve). Halloween is linked to the early pagan holiday “Samhain” which involved ritualistic ceremonies to connect with spirits.

Hallow means “holy”. November 1 is All Saint’s Day. It is believed that on Halloween night the veil between the two worlds is thin and connection to the spiritual world can easily occur and be accessed.

What has popped up for me of late is NDE or “Near Death Experiences”. When I first began my journey in understanding and grasping the spiritual world I read loads of books on NDE. I was drawn to NDE during this time because I wanted to understand why I was seeing spirits, but also I was curious about the other side. What was it like?

I did find reading books on NDE very comforting. Individuals discussed what it was like for them and their experiences seem to be very unique, however, I did notice there were certain similarities in the stories. The similarities were that they experienced a sense of peace and love on the other side. They also saw loved ones and the loved ones indicated it was not their time and they had to go back because they had still much to do. They felt the presence of God or Creator, but never saw a person, but felt the essence of God and the sense of love emanating from the essence. They did meet angels or as some people indicated “spiritual beings”. Some of their life timeline played out before them. Not in a judgmental way, but in a way that they were aware of not acting from a heart perspective towards others.

I encourage you to do some research on NDE. If you have experienced a loved one moving on you might feel a sense of comfort when reading or hearing about what is on the other side of the veil that separates. It is a thin veil and they are close by.

Approach the learning of NDE with gratitude. Gratitude helps us to understand that all is not lost. There is hope. There is a pure white light within and around us. It is easier to focus on problems or what task we have to do next as opposed to allowing ourselves to think of or become aware of at least five things in our life we should be thankful for. What simple 5 things are you thankful for? Express gratitude before you get out of bed and think of 5 things before you go to sleep. In ending your day by thinking of 5 different things you are grateful for you will come to recognize the beauty in your life. Spend time embracing that recognition!
