Meal Planning Magic-new header-2015-1136w header

Hey y’all! It’s me, Brenda from Meal Planning Magic. You’re receiving this email newsletter because you signed up--maybe a while ago--to receive an extra weekly email where I share a little bit about meal planning, seasonal content I think you might enjoy and a little bit more about me.

So what's new with you? We've been busy with college visits--trying to narrow things down for my daughter, prepping for our new flooring, fighting off sinus issues (yuck!). My friends gave me a surprise birthday brunch on Sunday which was so much fun! Since i celebrated the big 5-0 this year they wanted to do something special because I downplayed it around my actual birthday. I truly was so, so surprised!

I'd love to hear from you! Read on to find some more weekly Meal Planning Magic inspiration!

On The Blog - Simple Strawberry Fudge Truffles

Valentine's Day is tomorrow! We don't normally do much but we do get some sort of Asian food for dinner. It started because my and my husband's favorite place to go when we were first married was a Chinese restaurant near our house. If you're looking to add a fresh, sweet treat to your Valentine's Day plans, you can whip upthese Strawberry Fudge Truffles in no time! They're a twist on the classic combo of strawberries and chocolate. Click here to get the recipe.

Pin it to Pinterest here to remember to make it later!

Let me know if you give them a try!

Weekly Menu Plan

Hey all! This week is a bit mixed up due to our flooring remodel and some special events happening this week.

Here's what's on our dinner menu plan for this week:

Week of February 10, 2019
Sunday - Crispy Coconut Chicken with Sweet Chili Sauce and steamed rice, garden salad
Monday - Crockpot Lasagna Soup
Tuesday Special activity--eating on the go. We're grabbing Vietnamese Bánh mì sandwiches
Wednesday - Mesa Grilled Pork Tenderloin(from Dream Dinners), garlic mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli
Thursday - Asian food to go! For Valentine's Day
Friday - YoYo (You're On You're Own-- usually leftovers or my teens are out with friends so I often don't plan much)
Saturday - Not sure yet--will depend on status of access to our kitchen from remodel.

On The Blog - Ten Tips for Slowcooker Success

I LOVE, love, love my slowcooker! I use it often because I love coming home after a long day to dinner that's already cooked. I've been using mine so long that I've learned a lot over they years so I shared some of what I learned in my Ten Tips for Slowcooker Success. Want to convert a recipe that's not written for the slowcooker to make it in the slowcooker? This post also has a FREE Recipe Conversion Chart that you can downloadFind everything here!

What Caught My Eye (and Ears) This Week

Each week I share a collection of news stories, books or things I'm listening to that caught my eye (and ears) this week so you can get to know me a bit more and maybe offer some of your own suggestions! Here goes:
* I found this story about finding a environmentally friendly end for volumes of printed books super interesting! Check it out in Finding a Cure for ‘The DaVinci Code Syndrome’An Austin used-bookstore manager crusades for zero waste.
* Have you heard about Imperfect Produce? Or maybe you even live in one of their delivery zones? (I'd love to know what you think if so!) They're saving you 30% off produce that's totally edible but maybe not the prettiest. And helping to prevent food waste too!
* From the "is this creepy or cool?" files: Talented Yarn Artist Crochets, Knits and Embroiders a Life-Size Sculpture of a Local Woman Walking Her Dog
* If you're a fan of Hallmark movies like I am, I came across this post that their production company is looking for extras for a Hallmark Christmas movie they're filming in Connecticut. No experience is necessary! Get all the details here.
* If you're going to be in the Los Angeles area in May, you may want to check out the 3rd Annual Food Bowl, the month long festival from the Los Angeles Times. It looks like a great lineup of activities!

What's something new or fun that you've seen this week that's worth sharing? Let me know by replying to this email or sharing in our Meal Planning Magic Community Table Group! I'd love to hear from you!
