About the workshop
Teaching artists and administrators around the world are in the process of planning or navigating a safe and comfortable return to in-person classes, while other programs have already started live studio experiences. As if reopening weren't complicated enough, many of us are also eager to maintain an online presence even as we teach in studios again.
In this much-anticipated workshop, we'll address the challenges and opportunities of the present moment. How has the pandemic impacted the health and well-being of people with Parkinson's and their caregivers in ways we might not know until our first class back in person? When thinking about our classes, how do we balance safety with quality of experience? How do we meet the needs of participants who want to dance in person while remaining connected to those who want to dance at home?
Dr. Suketu Khandhar, a world-renowned neurologist who is a champion for multidisciplinary care, will address medical considerations related to a safe return to in-person classes. We'll then focus on real-world logistical considerations related to offering in-person and hybrid classes and we'll facilitate a conversation that addresses your ideas, concerns and further questions.
Join us as Dr. Khandhar, Maria and David explore how to balance our community's hopes and needs with our own concerns about maintaining safety, fostering well-being and sustaining high-quality programming.
