NEW Gratitude Rock Fingertips

Hello friend,

We hope you had a nice weekend celebrating Mother's Day. Mothers make the world a better, more loving place, and we think Moms rock! (And we're not just saying that because we're all mothers ourselves.)

Please join us as we continue practicing gratitude this week! Recently, Lori's Book Club studied the topic of Practicing Joy & Gratitude. It was an enlightening chapter! We thought it would be fun to share some of what we're all grateful for (see our short lists below)... and also 12 Ideas for Bringing More Gratitude into Your Life.

Plus, take advantage of our $10 off Gratitude Discount on our upcoming Hot Process Soapmaking Live eClass - we just scheduled a new date for next Monday Night, 5/16, at 6:30pm PT. Here are a few reminders of some other items currently on sale: Lori's 3 Types of Body Butters Instructions & Recipes are $10 off for a few more days, and our Collection of New Paperback Books (click for an updated inventory) are up to 35% off. You can see all the specials we have going on now at this page.

Finally, catch up with our recent blog posts section... where you'll find guest blogger Steph sharing some amazing essential oil diffuser blends, and more info than you ever wanted to know about INCI names and cosmetic labeling. Hope y'all have an amazing week.

Let's keep learning together,
Lori, Cassie, & Ruth

Top 12 Ways to Bring On The Gratitude

Quote Joy Pain

Lori found a wonderful list of ways to be more grateful in M.J. Ryan’s book Attitudes of Gratitude: How to Give and Receive Joy Every Day of Your Life. Here are her "Top 12 Ways to Bring More Gratefulness into Your Life" (I especially like #5):

1. Practice Daily – in a journal, in an email to a gratitude partner, when you’re driving home from work, at dinner with your family, before going to sleep. The more you create a routine, the easier it will be to remember.
2. Create visual or auditory reminders – a sign, a popup on your computer, reminders sent to your cell phone.
3. Focus on what’s right in your life instead of what’s wrong.
4. Say “thank you” to others as often as possible.
5. Make sure to include yourself. What did you do well today? What are you thankful to yourself for? The more we appreciate ourselves, the more our good qualities grow.
6. Especially when they’re annoying or frustrating you, remember why you love your spouse, kids, and friends.
7. Compare well – when you find yourself envying someone, focus on what you do have that other people don’t.
8. Give thanks for your body. What can you appreciate about it right now?
9. Have a gratitude rock – a little pebble you carry in your pocket. Every time you feel it, think of something you are thankful for.
10. When difficult things happen, ask yourself: What’s right about this? Yes, it’s awful, but if something were right about it, what would it be?
11. Look for the hidden blessings in challenges. How have you grown?
12. Imagine that this day is the first and last of your life. How would you treasure it?

Quote Gratitude BB

Here are some things that we're all grateful for. Have you ever made a gratitude list? If so, feel free to share it by commenting on our blog so we can add things to our growing lists that we haven't thought of yet!

We are grateful for...

Lori:
-All the amazing students & teachers I've met since opening the Studio in 2003
-Being able to run a business that allows me to fulfill my life's purpose
-For the garbage men... who make my son so very happy

Cassie:
-Having a job that allows me to put my family first
-Supportive family that thinks everything I do is awesome (even when it isn't)
-Two happy kiddos who keep me on my toes

Ruth:
-A flexible job that lets me follow my passions
-Health & happiness for my whole family
-A beautiful spring with a little bit of rain (though California could surely use more!)

What are you grateful for?
