Our youth each had $20 to spend on the Akron Children's Hospital project and they were excellent stewards of their funds. We were all definitely feeling the joy of giving! Thanks go out to Miss Rachel for helping with this field trip. This Sunday we will have our final meeting of 2019 as we celebrate Christmas! We met Maeve the Bunny, who enjoyed some quality snuggles with Tori. Maeve is a therapy brabbit in training. She is still too young to be official but just the right age to begin training and getting some socialization to see if being a therapy bunny is right for her. She was a definite hit here! Come join us in the ceramics studio on the YSU campus (Bliss Hall rm 0005) to hand make bowls for the next Empty Bowls YSU event. It'll be the most fun you've had volunteering your creative skills and you'll leave knowing you've made a difference this holiday season! We'll be in the studio all day, 10:00am -10:00pm! So come by and share your talents and skills and have fun: glazing/painting, carving, wheel throwing, press-molding, slab or coil building. No experience required, we'll help you make the biggest impact at your skill/experience level! It's a great way to use your creativity collaboratively and make a difference in the world, right inside the YSU Department of Art. Fresh cookies will be baked and the coffee will be warm. Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. The project is an opportunity to help feed the hungry in our community. Local artists and volunteers donate their time and talent to create handmade bowls for the event. Attendees choose an empty bowl in exchange for their donation and receive a simple meal to enjoy. The bowl is meant to be taken home as a symbol of their participation in helping feed those in need in Youngstown.
