Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray your week has been a blessed one and full of love. Summer is quickly passing by - I am ok if it slows just a bit. Even though I don’t like it real hot, I am ok with it. Better than our alternative. That already brings me to my……
WORD for the week is “CHANGE.” Now I know there are a lot of us that really don’t like “change,” but I am going to try to “change” our mind about that today. When we have known, done, acted, spoken the same day after day then all of a sudden we may have our cart upset - whoa!!!! “Back up the truck, Chuck.” We want a redo. We may have become comfortable with certain things and then the tables are turned. How will we handle the “change?” Will we retreat? Will we be angry? Will we be happy? Will we possibly turn our back on our One True God that never “changes?” Possibly we have become stagnant in our life? When water becomes stagnant - well you know…..not good. We sometimes need a good stirring or “change” in order to keep us on our toes. If you have had a time of “change” recently, I want you and me to cherish that “change” and ask the Holy Spirit to help guide us in the way He wants us to go. Let us be open to hearing clearly what we are to do - or not do. I have had some “change” happen in my life lately and I pray the Holy Spirit lets me embrace this and listen with my heart to exactly what you have for me. Let’s be a willing vessel to be used in whatever way our “change” takes us."

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!” ~ Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Outdoor Worship

August 27 - September 24

Mark your calendars and join us for church in the great outdoors!
This year we are trying something new - meeting in the courtyard between the church
and warehouse, hoping it will be more quiet than out front. Park like normal, head into
the building, walk straight back past the desk to the hallway, and head out the door.
Chairs and canopies will be set up or you can bring your own.

The beautiful weather that kicked off this week was perfect for outdoor work! We spent plenty of time weeding, mowing, and tying up tomatoes while enjoying blue skies, breeze, and butterflies. It was gratifying to all to find some gorgeous watermelons growing and peeking out from the vines.

On Wednesday some of our group spent the morning at Fitness For All in Canfield, exercising with Bethany. As always, they had a great time. The rest of the crew spent that time out weeding. In the afternoon, everyone headed into the woods to check for fallen trees and to enjoy time at the creek. We even found some blackberries to pick while in the woods.

Today is CSA day so everyone is out harvesting radishes, turnips, tomatoes, and more. It is always exciting to see all the delicious produce that comes from our fields and raised beds!

Our next Youngstown Flea is coming up fast. Kitty will be there next Saturday, August 12, 9am-3pm, with jams and catnip toys. Stop out to see her and to check out all the other amazing vendors!

I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
