Internship Opportunity

We are accepting applications for our March - August 2018 internships. Our interns conduct primary research and assist with workshops. In exchange, they get a year of membership to the studio.

We are so pleased to announce that Traces has been purchased by The New York Public Library and Hampshire College Special Collections. We are thrilled to have our portfolio included in these wonderful, accessible collections.

Our third year at Editions/Artists' Book Fair in New York in October was a big success.
We featured portfolios and artists' books by 13 ZMP artists. We sold lots of things and had great conversations with print lovers.

The exhibition at Motherbrook Arts Center included artists' talks where Frank Ozereko, Kim Gatesman and Lynn Peterfreund all gave great insight into their working processes.

Call for Entries: BIG INK at 3 Fish Studios, San Francisco, CA
Deadline: February 19th, 2018
Entry Fee: Free to apply, $295 dollars if selected
BIG INK has teamed up with 3 Fish Studios for two one-day large woodcut printing sessions on Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th, 2018. We'll be utilizing 3 Fish's etching press to pull prints. Artists are invited to submit a proposal to create a woodcut, at least 24” x 36” in dimension, online at www.bigink.org/apply.

Interesting Print Things

The Library of Congress is involved in a massive digitizing project and they recently put over 2500 Japanese Woodblock Prints online for downloading.

There is a lovely small exhibition of Michael Mazur’s prints, paintings & drawings at the Mead Museum, Amherst College until December 31st.

Kevin Pomerleau has work in the following upcoming shows:

IPCNY New Prints Program Winter Exhibition. The work was selected by Miguel A. Aragón, Natasha Becker, Pepe Coronado, Bernard Lumpkin, Jennifer Melby, and Mark Waskow, from a record 1,313 applicants. Artists submitted work from all 50 states as well as Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. Liz Bannish will show work in the 70th Anniversary Boston Printmakers Biennial. The exhibition reception is at the Lesley University Lunder Arts Center in Cambridge, MA, on January 27th from 3-5 pm. This is included as part of a full day of print-related activities all around the city put on by the Boston Printmakers.

Annie Bissett is exhibiting two woodblock prints in Mokuhanga: Impressions Past and Present at Union College in Schenectady NY. The show, curated by Asian art historian Sheri Lullo and printmaking professor Sandra Wimer, will feature historical Japanese prints as well as work by ten contemporary artists who work with Japanese method woodblock printmaking. January 3 - March 13, 2018, at Burns/Crowell Galleries in the Feigenbaum Center for Visual Arts.
