Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray your week has been a good one. God is good all the time – no matter what – no matter what is happening around us. Just wanted to start out with that. I needed to start out with that, if only just for me. My few weeks have been challenging my peace. But trying to keep in my head – we are more than conquerors through Jesus!"

"My WORD for this week is “PREPARE.” When we go on vacation we “prepare” and take care of things so it will go as smoothly as possible. If we are scheduled to take a test of any kind, we “prepare” and study to gain the best results. There are some things we don’t “prepare” for, such as an unexpected death, loss of job, loss of friends, unexpected illness, or even just being hurt by someone close. We need to “prepare” our minds and hearts for such a time as these. Put on the whole armor of God. “Prepare” with that armor for the unknown everyday so you will come out victorious. I didn’t take this verse to heart these past few weeks and this week I felt like I was in quicksand. The more I tried to “prepare” my way – the more would try to beat me down. You see I say try to beat me down because I am still here and moving forward. I will “prepare” with the best materials God has for me. I will encourage others to “prepare” with those same materials so no matter what – no matter when – we will be ready for battle. I hope this has blessed you in some way this week. It may have been just for me, only God knows. Let’s keep pressing on – onward and upward! Holy Spirit, be our guide – we are ready for battle."

And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. ~ Ephesians 6:10-18 (MSG)

Cherry Lemonade Juicy Jam is ready for purchase. We are so excited to share this new flavor with all of you!

On Tuesday we celebrated Keegan's birthday. Sue Weaver came and helped us make a taco salad feast for lunch. It is always a special day when we have a visitor, lunch was delicious, birthday cake was enjoyed, and a splendid day was had by all!

This week has had us cleaning up from the tea, picking up sticks outside, digging up more buried rubbish out back, watering our sprouts, building a on Lego car, cooking, cleaning, and more. Our crew is exceptionally good at working hard and having fun at the same time.

Next Friday, March 31, is the deadline for our CSA Early Bird price. We are so pleased to say that we only have a couple shares left. If you want to enjoy fresh produce, grown right here, all season, now is the time to register. Before too long, crops will be shooting up all over!

Goodness Grows Spring Community Service Project

Goodness Grows has decided to take on a service project to help a local family that is dealing with food insecurity and health issues. We feel that doing service projects is an important experience that benefits our clients and staff, challenging us to give back and look for ways we can grow some goodness out in our community.

If you would like to contribute to this project, please send in a monetary donation of any amount or a gift card for any grocery store. Goodness Grows will match all donations, dollar for dollar, so we can make as big of a difference as possible. Feel free to include an encouraging note for us to pass on to the family, if you feel the desire to do so.

We will have a donation bucket available at church this Sunday, if you would like to participate in our project. Once we have our funds collected, we will plan a field trip for our GG crew to go shopping together for the family.

Thank you,

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
