Happy Weekend!

It was fun to celebrate our youngest daughter Tessa's birthday on Monday. Her birthday treat request was cupcakes with marshmallow frosting. Be sure to check out the recipe (link below) - she LOVED it!!

If you remember about this time a year ago, we dove into a whole-house repainting project that involved painting all of our ceilings, walls, and trim. Well we finished up our oldest daughter's bedroom last weekend and are setting up this weekend to paint our master bedroom...THE LAST ROOM on the list. I am tired of paint, but excited to put an end to this project!

My Favorite Things this week... I had so much fun frosting Tessa's cupcakes with this scoop (link here). Not only does it make a great frosting presentation, but it's EASY too!! The other thing I wanted to mention - if you know someone who is into the squishy toy craze (weird, I know, but the kids love them!), check this set out (link here). Tessa received this set for her birthday, and I have to say they're some of my favorite squishies that she has. And the nice price tag makes them great for gift giving.

Thank you so much for joining me here each week, for reading the blog, and for following along on social media. I am so grateful for your company.

Have a great weekend!
-Brenda

These vibrant Lime Baby Cakes are fun, ultra tasty, and completely addictive. They'd make a great treat for Cinco de Mayo next weekend!

Buttermilk makes these mini cupcakes dense and moist, and lime juice and zest give them zingy fresh citrus flavor. A swirl of cream cheese frosting on top offers the perfect creamy contrast.

CRUMBS: What We Made This Week

I was hungry for grilled salmon, and knew that my parents always like a good salmon meal. So last weekend we made this Grilled Chipotle-Orange Salmon. It's sweet and smoky and lightly spiced, such a lovely meal for grilling season.

The Kentucky Derby is also happening next weekend. Pineapple Mint Julep Sangria is a fun twist on the traditional mint julep beverage served by the thousands at this event. This big-batch cocktail is perfect for gatherings - and deliciously refreshing all summer long!
