We welcome back Rev. Dr. David Hill to lead us in Worship this week, bringing a message
to tie into Mission Sunday. He and his wife, Deborah, have served both denominational
and interdenominational churches in several states. David received his BA from WV Wesleyan College and his MDiv and DMin from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He strives
to “stick to the teaching and application of God’s Love and His Word for our lives.”

The featured Scripture is: Mark 4:35-41
for David's message: Who Is This?

Collide Kids (Grades 1-4) will remain in Worship for this special service.

Prayer

How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"How blessed we are by our wonderful God. I pray you all are doing well. A lot has happened in my garden this past week. The birds seem to like my sunflowers this year. Cucumbers are doing so well this year along with yellow squash, zucchini, some peppers and we got our first red tomato this weekend. Bountiful harvest. God cares so much for us – he even feeds the birds my sunflowers! It is all good. I feel so blessed everyday and am thankful."

"The Word for this week God gave me is “SURROUNDED.” Have you ever felt “surrounded?” My garden is getting “surrounded” by weeds because I haven’t kept up on them. Do we have any weeds that may have “surrounded” us? Maybe something that we have let creep in our heart and mind? Could be “surrounded” with bad things or emotions. When we feel “surrounded” by unpleasantness – just know that God is there, “surrounding” us with His goodness. He has us “surrounded” with His Love that is so sweet. The Holy Spirit will “surround” us with a faith shield. When we feel we can’t go on because we feel “surrounded” on every side – pray the Holy Spirit flow through us with clarity of heart and mind. He wants us to be “surrounded” in His victory! Press though – push through – victory is ours! I pray this week and the weeks to come, God’s Holy presence will consume us so none of the bad can penetrate. We may need to go through some not so pleasant experiences – but we will be victorious here and on the other side. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE! Surrounded by His Glory!"

For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory.
~ Psalm 32:7 (NLT)

News of the Week

Our seed sorting project has come to an end and we are so excited to have such a wonderous abundance of seeds and to be so organized. Come on CSA 2022! Our crew has also been busy planting some of these seeds for this year's CSA shares. We are so very thankful for this blessing that is such a benefit and help to our program! Thanks again to Barb and Liberty Wal-Mart.

On Sunday, we hope to see you here at Common Ground or on Facebook Live. Our GG Board President, Kitty Kromer, will be speaking. She will explain some of GG's history as well as our role here on the property and within the community. You'll learn about what we do and why we do it. Kitty will also mention how you can help keep our mission operating, how you can join in and be a part of growing goodness! We will be sure to share this August 1 service on our Goodness Grows Facebook page.

This week saw us cleaning up weeds around the warehouse, weeding the butterfly garden, enjoying the woods and creek, baking zucchini bread (which didn't go quite the way we wanted!), harvesting, and more. No two weeks are ever the same at GG, so it is always an adventure!

Busy cleaning the church.

Goodness Grows

The non-profit ministry of Common Ground Church Community, Goodness Grows is always busy on our property. GG works with students and adults with disabilities, providing vocational habilitation training in a fun, hands-on way. The GG crew maintains the grounds and cleans the building.

There are many ways to support GG, including:

Online Shopping through Amazon Smile ~ Volunteering ~ Donating Items
Purchasing Our Products ~ Telling Others ~ Charitable Giving

One of the interesting facts about GG is that we are a non-profit vocational habilitation program licensed by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. We receive money from the
state as a site that trains clients in a wide array of life skills. That money can only be used to pay
for supplies, staffing costs, program needs, etc. Goodness Grows pays our clients for their work here but their paychecks cannot come from that DODD money. So, the client salaries
are entirely funded through product sales and by charitable donations.

Learn more about GG this weekend at Common Ground, Sunday at 11am!

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
