NYC Action Alert! Friday, November 25, 2015

Struggle has broken out in Chicago and Minneapolis. In NYC, different forces have called for a demonstration in New York City at the Washington Square Park at 6 PM. Initially called in response to the shooting of anti-police brutality protesters in Minneapolis MN, without doubt the outbreaks of protests and outrage in Chicago will be joined into the needed powerful expression of outrage and struggle.

Carl Dix in his new statement says, "[B]e out there on Friday demanding that MURDER AND TERROR BY THE POLICE MUST STOP! Take defiant and determined action to make clear to everyone, all around the world that killer cops like the one who wantonly stole Laquan McDonald’s life must all be indicted, convicted, and sent to jail. Jason Van Dyke, the pig who murdered Laquan, had many, many complaints for excessive force and using the “n” word. Yet he still marauded through Black and Brown neighborhoods with a badge and gun and a license to kill, as long as he said the magic words that killer cops always use—“I feared for my life.”

People in Chicago aren’t having it. Laquan McDonald was executed by Chicago police last October 20.

This video should shock the conscience of anyone who has one. The cop who shot Laquan 16 times has just been charged with first degree murder -- after 13 months -- but what about the other 6 cops on the scene?

Take to the streets on Wednesday, and on Black Friday in face of efforts by the authorities to buy off and placate outrage and protests.

Stop Mass Incarceration Network Chicago calls for massive protests on Black Friday, assembling on North Michigan Ave.

According to DNA Info, Rev. Michael Pfleger, a prominent figure in Chicago, told his parish at St. Sabina Church to lead the protest during his homily Sunday, drawing on the legacy of "civil disobedience" established during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. "If you really want to make a statement: Black Friday is coming up. The number one business day," Pfleger said. "Don’t shop on Black Friday and go down to Michigan Avenue and sit down in the street and block the street on Michigan Avenue with civil disobedience peacefully, and say 'business as usual can’t go on while our children are dying.'”

Sunday, November 15, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 24-year-old Jamar Clark was killed by the police. The cops claim Jamar tried to grab one of their guns in a scuffle. But many, many witnesses say the cops handcuffed Jamar, knocked him to the ground, and then shot him in the head. More here.

At 10:45 pm, Monday November 23, a group of white supremacists opened fire on protesters demanding justice for Jamar Clark. Actions to these new outrages are called throughout the country! Read more here.
