Hi all!

Happy August! I know many of you are heading out on vacation and I hope some of you may find yourself passing near Newton, so we'll get to see you!

I was recently joking with a traveler about all the funny names for PRE-CUTS and how they get "mangled" in different parts of the country. LOL

American Patchwork & Quilting always has several interesting projects, so the $9.99 is well worth the inspiration and entertainment, plus good patterns provided!

This issue I noticed DAWN ON THE PRAIRIE, pictured in the magazine and we have some of that line! .

While checking out PUMPKIN TRAILS pattern in the magazine, I thought about Kansas Troubles Quilters, FLUTTERING LEAVES, the perfect PUMPKIN fabric, so I pulled a kit together for that! Check it out here.

Do you know that today, August 1, is "Colorado Day"?

As a Kansan, I think this is a rather sad day, as until Colorado was made it's own territory, which led to its becoming a state in 1876, it was the western part of our Kansas Territory!

Just think if we could claim the Rockies, rather than being thought of as "flat". LOL
