Curator's Choice is a meticulous selection of works by artists in which we believe in their journey and work. A choice with attention to their body of work and trajectory.
Juan Baraja was born in Toledo in 1985. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Barcelona. He works with the relation that arises between architecture and space management through photography. The precise and careful composition of each image characterises the result of the photographer's analysis, without forgetting the feeling that arises in each place from his own experience. His work demonstrates his subjective look, where light plays an essential role.
His work has been exhibited in private galleries throughout Spain as well as in institutions. His solo exhibitions include "Utopie Abitative" Palazzo Lanfranchi Museum, Matera; "Águas Livres" Espacio Líquido, Gijón; "Catedrales" Utopía Parkway, Madrid; "Norlandia" Javier Silva, Valladolid; "Archiitekturen" Ufferstudios, Berlin and "Utopie Abitative" at ETSAM (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid). Among his group exhibitions, "La radice de le domani" Real Academia de España en Roma, Rome; "El viaje a Roma. Fotógrafos Becarios at the Academia de España en Roma" Centro Niemeyer, Avilés; "Miró. Origen Revelat", Casal Solleric and Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, Palma de Mallorca; among others.
He has participated in several competitions and biennials, winning several prizes, including the XVI edition of the UCM Young Art Prize and the PHOTO ART PRIZE FLORENCE-SHANGHAI.
