36.5 / A Durational Performance with the Sea, 2013-present, is a series of nine site-specific performances and video artworks spanning nine years and six continents that activate the public on personal, local, and global scales in conversations around deep time, embodied experience, and sea-level rise.

Community Workshops with Artist Sarah Cameron Sunde

On August 24, 2022, Interdisciplinary Artist and current Guggenheim Fellow, Sarah Cameron Sunde will lead a conversation about her work followed by a guided walk by the water and a listening circle, inviting participants to reconsider their relationship with the sea.

Workshops will be held in two sessions: one from 3- 5pm in Riverside Park (Meet at 72nd Street and Riverside Drive) and another at 6 - 8pm in Riverside Park North (Meet at 145th Street and the Hudson River). No registration necessary. Please be prepared for a short walk and bring a refillable water bottle.

The culminating work in the 36.5 series, 36.5 / New York Estuary, will take place from 7:27am - 8:06pm on September 14 in the East River in Queens, with simultaneous participation from 36.5 global sites including Bangladesh, Brazil, Kenya, the Netherlands, and Aotearoa-New Zealand.

The performance will be livestreamed at Riverside Park at Pier I (W 70th Street and the Hudson River) on September 14 for the duration of the performance from 7:27am - 8:06pm.
